Nearly guaranteed now, Brock will transfer out this spring.

I'm afraid Cutter will transfer.....during the off-season open period there will be several SEC coaches contacting him and offering him $$$$ and telling him you don't want to play in Stoopid's 1980 offense and lose all the time, when you can come play for us and play for championships. Auburn, Ole Miss and a few others will be QB shopping. They see Boley's potential
That’s a pretty lofty claim that sec schools already see his potential and will be offering big money for him. What are you basing this on?

First off, I didn't say NIL was ALL a joke. I said NIL " obligations" for players are a joke.

There could be a mutual parting of ways, but, again, where would he go??

Have you seen a worse QB at ANY level this year??

I haven't. And I watch a lot of FB.

And if CMS committed the starting QB job for 2 years with a 7 figure NIL deal to BVG, do you think CMS would go back on that commitment??

And if he did renege, do you think BVG and his dad would just accept that and transfer out??
the staff has to see what everyone else saw all year.

that is Calipari level coaching malpractice.

Stoops doubled down on a bad year by not committing to what he saw in practice

Whether he plays or not will be up to CMS AND whatever the commitment was made to get him here. Was probably promised the starting QB job for 2 years.
I have not seen any NIL contract but the terms are likely similar to this:
1. UK pays X dollars per season for Y seasons.
2. Player must fulfill certain academic requirements and stay out of trouble.
3. If player leaves voluntarily after a season, he receives no money for future seasons.
Doubtful that any such contract would include a guarantee of a starting position irrespective of actual performance. One, that term would be against public policy and void. Two, it would be in conflict with the existing contract of the head coach to exercise his best efforts to win games for UK.

Brock can't be forced out early (which is OK because we need an experienced backup in the QB room) but he can choose to leave early (and terminate UK's payment obligation) if he is not satisfied with a backup role.

The players can’t sign contracts. It’s all a wink wink nudge nudge deal. Reading the wiring on the wall, BVG may decide is best to go elsewhere.
Unless the player is not yet 18 years of age and lacks the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract, this statement is not accurate. Every other active NIL deal in the country is evidenced by a written agreement between the student athlete and the institution.

Cutter, as a freshman, is already better. It isn't even close. If we can get him an OL, there's no telling what he's capable of.
NO offense to Brock but I guess there was a reason he rode the bench at UGA, he is too quick to jump out of the pocket and run when there are guys down field open and his accuracy is not that great when he does throw.

You do realize some business is putting up those NIL dollars to actually have that player on the field to hopefully get some kind of return on their investment, right???

The commitment to play may be as much for the donor ( booster) as it is to the player getting the NIL dollars.

Staff wanted to, and did, save Cutter's RS. I think that was a good part of why they stuck with Brock & Gavin - thinking one could step up. Now why you want to save a RS in this age I don't see/know.

Probably too early to call it either way.

We're not quite into wacky season just yet. Next will kick it off via a lot of games that could really go either way and send things into a tizzy in terms of coaching and staff changes which inevitably affect portal and where players go.

That's just the kickoff of wacky season though. Post season and how that goes or doesn't go will also change a lot of scenery.
