NBA PLAYOFFS SUNDAY!!

That series may well define why Lakers fans don’t like Lebron.

Idk.. I'd be much more upset by Davis. Lebron is just too old, yet he STILL gives you consistency. He was just about the only player to show up for LA tonight, in year 20.

We can hate him because he's a phony, what he says, politics, etc.. but considering his age, and what he was able to give.. hard for LA fans to be upset with his production.

Maybe James will finally retire.

Denver was heads and tails above these Lakers. Exciting times here in Denver. Just need to get the Rockies and Broncos back on track. At least the Broncos have a lot going for them. The Rockies are just boring...

What does this mean for everyone involved?

Lebrons GOAT status takes a bit of a hit for getting swept by a Denver team that isn't really any all-time great team. He's going to wind up in the 2nd to 6th range.

Murray right there with Booker as two of the hottest scorers when they are on. Huge series for him.

Anthony Davis didn't seem to really care when they lost. I know the poster the other day got blasted for calling out AD, while AD had like a 40pt night.. but was he really wrong?

And Jokic. Pretty clear he should be the MVP for 3 years running. Is he top50 player of all time? If he wins a title, is he in the top25? Jokic is on a meteoric ascension.

He consistently stood on the perimeter and missed 3 pointers in the fourth quarter of every game in this series.

He had 40pts on like 60% 3pt shooting tonight. I don't think he's really the problem.

A guy in his 20th year isn't going to drive to the hoop every possession, night in and night out. He won't last the season doing that. People didn't like him shooting 3s to end the other games, so he took it to the rack to end this one.

Lakers have bigger problems. I think you shop/move AD. If a player is a star one game, and no show the next.. then what is he, really? What are you getting from that?

He played very well in the 1st half of game 4.

Even dead grandmas know that.

His second half? He was passive and ineffective.

And that was basically the problem whole series.

If he can’t do it “all game” and is ineffective late, then you have a problem. It’s called being old.

It’s exacerbated when he decides he has to be the one to win the game, and he can’t do it.

You don’t trade Lebron and you don’t trade Davis. There is no one else like either one of them.

AD is a unicorn. You can’t replace him.

The Lakers went from 2-10 to the Conference Finals.

The focus is not to get rid of either of their two best players.

The goal is to add a third piece that can legitimately take the scoring load off of those 2, play adequate defense and be counted on to score down the stretch.

And Lebron has to be willing to cede minutes early and cede some possessions late.

If you're Boston, you have to think about blowing this up. I'd be absolutely repulsed by what I've seen from Brown AND Tatum, when it matters the most.

Of course they won't get rid of both.. it will likely be Jaylen Brown who goes. But I'm not convinced, at all, that Tatum is the guy you want.
I have kind of thought this myself... but at 25 and 26 they are still fairly young. They're both just now getting to what you expect to be their prime. But, I don't know if that duo is ever going to be enough to carry them to a championship.

Denver turned it on to start the season and toyed with the NBA to end the season. They think they have enough talent to turn it on and off and they may be right.

Miami is also playing up to its potential in these playoffs and might be playing even better as a team.

Should be a fun series with deep benches having a huge say in the outcome.

About Davis, his game has always been about being a 2-way player as he leads the playoffs in rebounding and blocks. His health determines how competative the Lakers will become. But in game 4, they probably needed AD scoring 40 more than James scoring 40 or another piece of the puzzle to give them the 20 points that Reaves did in just about every game this series.

I hope youre right. Perhaps it was just about Boston getting hot in the 2nd half and Miami just not catching up. If it becomes 3-2 the pressure goes to Miami.
It may very well get very interesting but they’ll throw up a dud against that defense somewhere. 3-2 would be stressful but I think it does go 3-2 and then Boston runs out of gas in Miami.
