NASCAR thread

They just showed the Bubba Wallace "noose" issue from Talladega last year on the NASCAR broadcast and Rick Allen said it was a "racial slander". Then he doubled down by saying it was a garage rope tied in an inappropriate manner. I guess he forgot that it was a loop tied in the same pull rope the year before and had nothing to do with Bubba or a "noose". 😂😂

Man, I loved every second of Harvicks bitch ass playing reverse mind games with himself and completely junking his car at the mere sight of Chase in his mirror. That was HILARIOUS.

I think real life is trying to teach him a lesson or two.

I have never been a Harvick fan but when he took out half of the field at Talladega a few years ago because his engine was letting go so he would make the next round of the playoffs has given me a hatred for him that is unexplainable. It made it even worse when he doubled down and said he didn't do it despite the in-car camera showing him looking in his mirror, seeing cars going to his outside, swerving into them and causing the wreck.

I have the same feelings. I've always thought he was a fake tough guy. He can run his mouth, but he never backs it up with anything..

I don't know what made me laugh harder Kyle Busch being forced to attend sensitivity training after his post race comments Sunday or Denney Hamlin crying about getting knocked out of the way when he literally did the same thing to Elliott at the same track a few years ago.

Also my NASCAR Champion prediction is Kyle Larson despite the fact Phoenix isn't one of his best tracks. I still think he gets it done Sunday.

I really want to see what happens when Larson and Elliott are 1/2 towards the end with Hamlin right behind them. He would be smart to just stay back.

Larson deserves it this year. Eff the Chase
I have never liked the chase format and this version is even worse. NASCAR and their TV partners think that announcers hyping these cutoff races and telling us how great they are makes the fans more excited. I just don't understand why NASCAR thinks they have to have a "playoff" system like stick and ball sports. I am not sure if there has been a sports sanctioning body that is more out of tune with it's fans than NASCAR.

Who you got today?

I think Larson takes it.

great last Lap in xfinity last night. Hemric nipped Cindric at the line

Under the chase rules and especially this format the best driver doesn't always win but this year it played out and the best driver won. What always amazes me is, unless someone has issues, the top 4 cars all day long are always the Final Four drivers.

I was pulling for the other Kyle, but I'm happy for Larsen, seems to be a great kid. The Toyotas and Fords are going to have to find more HP before next season to stay with the Hendrick cars.

The playoffs have grown on me, I hated them at first. What I would like to see changed is the stage format. I just don't like the race being stopped every so many laps and top ten gets points. Award points at the end of the race, that's enough.

And they've already shelved the low HP in the next gen car.

670 HP for all non Daytona-Talladega races and lower spoiler.

NASCAR.com has a Power Ranking for Hall of Fame cases among active drivers and below is what they said about Bubba Wallace.

"Wallace, it could be argued, already warrants a placement in the Hall of Fame if he were to walk away today given his overall impact on the sport. Still, some more racing accomplishments wouldn't hurt his case, having just picked up his first win a few months ago. As he enters a second season with a beefed-up 23XI Racing, wins could come in droves for him over the next few years and for all we know he's a champion by the end of the decade. That would certainly make him a lock".

In the same link they mention that Austin Dillon's Daytona and Coca Cola 600 wins along with winning a championship in the truck and Xfinity series isn't enough to get him in. So what warrants Bubba's placement in the HOF? Is it his lone rain out victory last season? Maybe it's his saying a noose was tied in his garage stall when it turned out to be a loop in the pull rope that had been there for a couple of years? Is it because he was able to get Michael Jordan to become a car owner? I mean what other driver has been handed a spot in the HOF based on something besides his driving ability? I don't think Austin Dillon is HOF worthy but between the 2 he has accomplished way more on the track and both are drivers so that should be all that matters.

Story hear

He could be in the hall of fame as a nice display about breaking boundaries, etc., but there's no way he should be a hall of fame member yet. Maybe that will change, maybe it won't.
