3) lil Kook had superhuman strength. Climbed and broke shit. Had a wanderlust. Diapers and walking at 18 months ,twice broke out of playpen, ripped though one and climbed out of another… and walked out of house. Found at an Exxon station 1/2 mile away and at the Sweet Shop in opposite direction another 1/2 mile away. They asked me my name and apparently I said ‘Suzy’ (my sister).

I am both shocked & dismayed...defeated even. Somehow this sad revelation is much more disturbing to me than the threats from China & Russia, the failing economy, the decline of the US dollar as the world reserve currency, recent/future mass layoffs, the Great TRANSformation of America, the rise in crime rates, Global climate heating/cooling change, and the shameful decline of UK basketball...COMBINED.
Truly a sad day.

Did ribs in the pit barrel cooker today. Turned out great as usual. Included a mustard sauce from the barbecue bible. Lip smacking good. Currently am full, little drunk and just a smidgen high. Nice way to end a weekend. Needed it after the last few weeks.

Hypothetically speaking, perhaps some of them grew up about 1-1/2 hours from Pittsburgh & went to a bunch of Pirates & Steelers games until they moved to Kentucky at age 12. Perhaps those same people hypothetically lost interest in MLB completely after the two players’ strikes, the All-Star game tie debacle & the ensuing decision to give home field advantage in the WS to the league that wins the All-Star game.
In this hypothetical situation I would imagine the only thing that could possibly transform this former real Pirates fan into a meaningless message board faux Pirates fan would be the enticement of real life death defying stories from The Kooky Files in exchange for “naming a team”.

The funniest part about the whole deal is that last time kooky forced the Padres on me as my team...then they actually made the playoffs & did just as well as the Yanks.
This time he said I had to pick a team but it couldn’t be the Padres. So I chose the Pirates. The Padres suck this year & the Pirates are playing better than the Yanks. I’m sure the Pirates will eventually fade...but I am thoroughly enjoying the moment.

The last place Yankees have a better record than every team in the AL Central and all but one team in the AL West. That’s very wild at this point in the season. It also means that the AL East holds the top four spots in the wild card standings. Quite the statistical anomaly.
