While the sisters remembered it as a warm and happy place with mother and father. Charles did not.
Father always made him wash up between each chore. The forced smile kept father's hands away.
If Charles misbehaved mother would send the geese for him.
The sisters would groom him to their liking and leave the hair strewn about the grounds to appease the gods.
Charles would work while the sisters played.
