My God.. ESPN all afternoon and evening..

Ranting and raving about Ben Simmons matchup with those awful, no-good Wildcats.

Stayed home sick today. Got my sleep on, and had ESPN on the TV in the background. This is easily 5x the exposure Ben Simmons has had all year. He was already the supposed #1 pick and #1 recruit..

I get it, it's the biggest game for him so far. And it's Kentucky. But it's not "last years" Kentucky. We aren't in the top10. This isn't quite as big of a deal as they're making it.

But alas. ESPN is doing their best to make him out to be Jordan/Batman/Peyton all rolled into one, about to showcase his talent and bestow his presence while battling the #1 enemy, Kentucky.

This is going to be a 2 and a half hour suckfest.

Dude.. Dickie V was up until midnight last night calling OU/KU. No way he calls tonight's game 1000 miles away. He'll be lucky to call a game this weekend lol.

we know this scenario...

she invests early in the hopes that she'll be there on draft night...

...in all seriousness folks...ESPN is in the business of ratings...a part of that is finding who's "next"...the next MJ, the next Kobe, the next lebron, the next KD, the next AD, the next Steph...they got sell this kid now...they wan't people to buy now!

they and the NBA as well as all the other leagues need superstars to sell...especially when the games our on their network...

if they love this guy enough then maybe he'll do a commercial with them later...maybe he'll buddy up to all their personalities or at least take time for photos and keep the machine going...

it is literally their jobs "come see this guy...he's amazing...he's a freak...doing things never seen before..."...they need this kid to be a superstar...that way they can sell him for the next 15...

they're on UK a lot as well...and they've really changed their tune on Cal...not so much evil villain any more...now a cool hip guy that is changing the game...gets the best players, changes their lives...hangs with all the pros and celebrities etc...

ESPN hypes UK games as much as anyone. It just so happens the best player in the country is on the other team tonight. They are going to hype it. They are going to hype it more because it's against Kentucky, a team the entire nation knows and is guaranteed ratings. It's not a bias or trying to frame a certain agenda, it's smart business. Just cause they guy that sold you the tin foil hat says ESPN hates UK, you don't have to believe him.
