Anything?

Nothing really earth shattering for the bball team.

*Wynyard has been impressive in practice (better than expected), but still not sure if he'll get run in meaningful minutes this year
*Team isn't as close knit as last year... Could have used a Bahamas type trip
*Mulder graded out exceptionally well on film... Earned more fun (edit: RUN) especially if Hawkins is still out

Talked a lot about KSR in general. How he wants to be the largest overall media presence in Kentucky... Get back on tv, more politics on a separate section of the site or extension, etc.

Not to start something on this board, but something titled Kentucky Sports Radio should really stick to sports related topics IMO. If he wants to start a site called Kentucky Politics Radio that hardly anyone will get on, more power to him. Having said that, MJ can 100% post whatever he wants on KSR and if it politic crap I will just skip over it. It might gain more respect if he could be neutral and show both parties in positive and the more overwhelming negative factors for both, but we all know he favor one party (which is fine) but it would be more impressive to actually cover both neutrally.

I get that but at this point KSR is a name brand and doing it under KSR's umbrella rather than calling it KPR something is going to drive more attention.

The way he was talking though, I would expect by summertime that he has a politics site or link separate.

Also talked about his new podcast. Said he expects to have Jeb Bush on it and expects to have "all GOP candidates standing after Super Tuesday headed into the Ky Caucus" on his show.

Liberal radio fails in every sense of the word. Leave sports at sports; it's why ESPN is failing so hard.

covering UK sports without insulting the fans and being a political hack would result in way more viewership.

Yeah, it's only the most listened to sports show in Louisville and one of the most popular podcasts on itunes.

Hope he can turn it around.

Im not saying that. I'm saying it would grow even more if he would keep a few simple rules about topic and respect.

I don't like Matt Jones's show, he'll say something, then his side-kick (either Ryan Lemond or Drew Franklin, don't know for sure) will then go on a nervous rant about all the reasons he's right. I will listen sometimes when something like the UL scandal broke.

Or simply ignore the politics rather than make a comment about it and hijacking the thread on a basketball forum. Seems you are just as guilty. Pot meet kettle.

Now I will apply the same advice to myself.

Did he say something earth shattering about the football team?

MJ should keep politics out of his KY Media Takeover effort. Unless he presents BOTH sides of the political spectrum he's going to anger at least half of KY residents. Not the best way to takeover KY media.
I listen to MJ's show everyday if I can. Simply because it's UK sports and sometimes kinda funny. I like Matt, Ryan and Shannon. Don't really care for Drew, he seems to always be trying to get a ironic laugh. Not personal just the way I take him.

He's a complete screwball when it comes to politics and football...

Wasn't aware guys like Bush, Trump and Rubio, guys he plans to have on the show, were liberal. Thanks for letting me know!

haha. Yes indeed. #1 podcast in the sports & recreation category on iTunes, 35th on the overall rankings. Ranks higher than all the ESPN podcasts, Bill Simmons, and numerous NPR podcasts

Not surprsing the team may not be as close, consdiering that last year guys had been together 2 and 3 years.

Thanks. Didn't listen in this morning via IHeart. Usually don't, but did Weds morning just to see if most fans felt like I did. They did.

I agree with other's if he wants to have a separate site/board to discuss politics that's fine. Just as we have the Paddock here. I appreciate the way the mods move stuff over there if appropriate, and how poster's here overwhelmingly avoid it. It's not like there's a shortage of other sites to get into it.

I try to listen to the show every day that I can. It's very entertaining, and I think Matt, Ryan, and Shannon do an excellent job. However, I agree with many about the politics. I'm a conservative, but even if he gives equal time and is objective, I have no interest in it being a part of KSR.

Of course it's his site and he can do whatever he wants with it, but like others, I do hope he keeps it separate. I listen and read strictly for the sports.

He owns it. He can do what he likes. Does that mean he will lose or gain eye balls? I think he will learn pretty fast one way or the other. If he loses a lot of people it might leave an opening for someone to compete with him.

He can claim what he wants. I hope he brings those guys in though, because like i said, liberal radio is a bust, a failure, a dud. It won't last. He knows that, so he's saying we are going to bring in all sides. Although, he will pull the same crap the media does. Gotcha questions for the conservatives, baseball on a tee for liberals.

No thanks.

Enjoy the new political show. I'll stick to UK sports around here.

Kind of funny that Matt thinks he can book guests like Trump. I want some of what he's smoking.

I can see it now.

MJ question for Hillary

MJ - " I hate it when people ask what nationality Obama is. It's so racist in nature, and you never see someone with a white last name asked. As it concerns you Hillary, How have you handled all of the mud throwing with such grace?

And MJ question for Ted Cruz

MJ - "so, are you legal in the U.S.? Your last name is Cruz, you weren't born here exactly. Sounds like you've got some issues there. Some people say you're evil, are you?

:joy::clap:
