Mitchell injury...

You know no matter what, they will be cautious with him. No way he doesn't miss at least a week, even if it's just tweaked. I'm not convinced we can afford to lose something with that much experience. At least not against teams like Auburn and Bama. Our freshman are going to really have to play mistake free.

If Z could get a fair shot, he'd easily be our best big.
Have you watched him play at all this year?

He is lost constantly. He is not capable of staying in front of his man and gets bullied by anyone with size.

He can shoot but is an absolute liability anytime he is doing anything else.

Come on...
During the 1st 5 minutes last night, tre gave up 2 lay ups, missed a shot and had 2 turnovers, yet kept playing. If z had done that, he would still be running laps. Ccc plays his favorites, regardless

Might as well mentally prepare to be playing without him. We need others to step up.
I’m mentally there, but I’m also delusional and are hoping for good news and that he will be back Saturday, but I’m fully prepared for the bad news scenario

Somebody said it, Somebody quoted it. It's fact now.
I don’t see it anywhere online. The only thing out there is that Larry vaught said the x-rays were negative and that he was going to get a MRI done on it

Nothing is ever set in stone when dealing with young athletes. Look back at what i said last night, what I initially heard is still be the case. I'd gladly be wrong if something changes.
Damn, they need him no matter what some on here think. I’m still gonna pray he is good and it’s just a bruise

43 rebounds through six high levels games is a bad thing?

Who's even remotely close to that in any six games this season?
Who is even remotely close to those minutes? These conversations need to consider per-30 numbers. To simply look at totals just isn’t honest as it doesn’t account for the fact that Tre has played far and away more minutes than all the other bigs.

Per 30s or per 40s are misleading because they don't account for whether or not a guy can actually stay on the floor without fouling, consistently dig in on defense, or play congruently with multiple units.

Plus, people keep negating what the actual players have said about Tre. They keep telling us that they look to him for leadership. Why is that? Probably because he's a leader.

Tre Mitchell

#1 in minutes
#1 in rebounds
#2 in FG% (>49%)
3 assists per game
Plays the 5 when we need. Plays the 4 when we need it. Gives up his body.

Some people love to play the contrarian and ignore the obvious.

#1 in rebounds on an awful rebounding team? Wow!

It’s like twisting your ankle. First time is brutal. Fifth time, not as bad. If this is a recurring thing not as big of a deal as if it’s the first IMO.
I've sprained both of my ankles so bad that I needed surgery on both by the end of sophomore year. Against Garrad county in basketball going after a loose ball every bit of my momentum caused me to land my right foot on another players foot and felt two pops. I puked it hurt so bad. I'd torn tendons and cartilage on both sides of the ankle. Doc said it's very uncommon and I'd be lucky getting two more years of football and basketball. To your point, I've never sprained either ankle since. Like I literally can't sprain my ankles anymore. I quit taping my ankles in football and basketball except for football games and that was for my drip. I'm 40 now and play ball 3 times a week and nothing.

Really ? So lose our leading rebounder and when HEALTHY an important scorer and leader is beneficial to the team ? It would NOT help in the long run. You do know he was leading the team with 7 rebounds (21 minutes) when he got hurt ? probably not. He averages 12 pts. / 7.5 reb. (leader) / 3.1 Assist / 1.1 blocks (2nd on the team) / and 1 steal a game. Not to mention a veteran leader, yes by all means, he will NOT be missed. What a silly post. Not surprised though, I read SEVERAL a day that is just mind blowing.
He’s not a good rebounder. Only worse one other than the guards is Edwards

The most misleading and biased statistic is one that does not take into account playing time. And I would know, as a Statistician.

At shooting 3s maybe. That’s about it.
Z is a better rebounder than anyone on the team as well. He actually goes after rebounds and will use his height to his advantage and tip the ball back to himself. If he got 25+ minutes a game I have zero doubt he’d average 10+ boards.
