And yet some of our fans think he is a weak AD. Barnhart is very influential in the industry. He is also a member of the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.I guess I missed it. I didn’t realize he was on the football selection committee this year.
And yet some of our fans think he is a weak AD. Barnhart is very influential in the industry. He is also a member of the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.
Very weak for UK. Maybe he is influential nationwide but I’ve never seen someone fail so much yet get pumped up the ladderAnd yet some of our fans think he is a weak AD. Barnhart is very influential in the industry. He is also a member of the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.
Hmmmmm.Very weak for UK. Maybe he is influential nationwide but I’ve never seen someone fail so much yet get pumped up the ladder
Failed himself right into AD of the year recently and UK athletics perennial contenders for the Presidents. Guy is one of the luckiest Ive ever seen.Very weak for UK. Maybe he is influential nationwide but I’ve never seen someone fail so much yet get pumped up the ladder
…..and that hasn’t helped UK athletics at all.The man is likely respected more nationwide than any AD Kentucky has ever had.
That’s quite a *low* bar. He's beaten the hell out of any other UK AD in my lifetime. Perfect? No. Better than Hagan, Newton, or Ivy? Absolutely.
Yeah but youe ra perpetual downer...you're always whining about someone. If only you ran all the things all the timeVery weak for UK. Maybe he is influential nationwide but I’ve never seen someone fail so much yet get pumped up the ladder
Considering he's an ATHLETIC director...not the "what Johnny in Nonesuch wants" employee pretty sure almost all UK sports play in a postseason every year…..and that hasn’t helped UK athletics at all.
Nah, he quit before then because he didn't like the coach because the coach played favorites.Yeah but youe ra perpetual downer...you're always whining about someone. If only you ran all the things all the time
If coach would've just put you in you would've won state.
He’s not a weak AD. He just doesn’t give a shit about the fans. He talks down to us once or twice a year in a press conference or radio show and then runs off, not to be reached or appear again the rest of the year. And yet some of our fans think he is a weak AD. Barnhart is very influential in the industry. He is also a member of the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.
Again, Bama didn’t beat anyone. Ohio State and TCU have better wins than they do and less losses.Maybe he talked some sense into the committee. I can't believe that Bama losing 2 SEC games by 4 points puts them behind OSU who got shellacked by Michigan, USC that lost twice to UTAH, or TCU that got beat by KState on about the only big stage they've seen this year. How many years do we have to see SEC teams smack around higher ranked opponents from other conferences in bowl games before they stop considering the b1g or some other conference title/schedule as equivalent to the SEC?!
It's frkn madness
Wrong.Worse ad ever for UK
That’s really a stupid thing to say. Mitch is not condescending. He is anything but. Best AD we have had. Gracious. He’s not a weak AD. He just doesn’t give a shit about the fans. He talks down to us once or twice a year in a press conference or radio show and then runs off, not to be reached or appear again the rest of the year.
Anyone, name one AD that’s as inaccessible/condescending as he is. I’ll wait.
You’re right, the athletics program at Kentucky would completely fall apart without him. My mistake, the man is completely above any criticism at all. That’s really a stupid thing to say. Mitch is not condescending. He is anything but. Best AD we have had. Gracious.
Anyone question Barnhart about the bowl choice yet and let him know the early pulse of the game is negative from both fan bases?
When you yield to your competitors, it makes you popular. The man is likely respected more nationwide than any AD Kentucky has ever had.
He is. Because yours was a horrible take. At least you admitted it.You’re right, the athletics program at Kentucky would completely fall apart without him. My mistake, the man is completely above any criticism at all.
And as low as 130Hmmmmm.
The ultimate measure for an AD (at least I think it is fairest) is total program rankings.
He has had us as high as 8th in the nation.
I c/n claim to enjoy men’s soccer, rifle, volley ball or basketball like I do Football, but he’s apparently done a good overall job managing those and other sports, as they are typically ranked and respected.
And I’m proud of what those athletes accomplish, though I do not watch them live.
[A friend just texted asking if I were in London. I asked why I would be in Laurel County!].
Not gonna get much argument from me on that point. That’s quite a *low* bar.
Ahh yes, Mitch Barnhart is the God of athletics. We’ve never accomplished anything before him and will never accomplish anything after him. Yep, your take is very rational. Clown. He is. Because yours was a horrible take. At least you admitted it.
How is it his fault UK played itself into this bowl position? Dollars to doughnuts Stoops doesn't want to be in Vegas so close to signing day. That leaves a choice between Memphis and Nashville. It's also stupid to pit the basketball team vs. The football team again after the two coaches acted like 5 year Olds in the summer. Ksr already stirring the pot about it.
Ah, the sarcastic condescension of the keyboard warrior with nothing meaningful to say. Clown.Ahh yes, Mitch Barnhart is the God of athletics. We’ve never accomplished anything before him and will never accomplish anything after him. Yep, your take is very rational. Clown.
Ironic, given that your comment adds literally zero to the conversation.Ah, the sarcastic condescension of the keyboard warrior with nothing meaningful to say. Clown.
Yep....including "Kentucky Shame" headlines, both money programs on probation, and underfunding EVERY sport not called Men's Basketball.Ahh yes, Mitch Barnhart is the God of athletics. We’ve never accomplished anything before him and will never accomplish anything after him. Yep, your take is very rational. Clown.
So because Kentucky has had bad things happen in the past it excuses anything and everything Mitch could possibly do? Wow, delusional.Yep....including "Kentucky Shame" headlines, both money programs on probation, and underfunding EVERY sport not called Men's Basketball.
Or maybe you live in that alternate universe where the athletic director is Tom Jurich.
Yep, agree 100%. I’ve been on record as saying Mitch has had a good amount of success here. But his consistent derision of the fans, the refusal to meet with the media or answer questions, his ambivalent at best stance on NIL, and overall catering to the rich fans has rubbed myself and many others the wrong way.Nobody is saying he hasn’t done some good things but it’s time to move on. It’s long overdue
Dude hits and runs. Probably won't reply.Ironic, given that your comment adds literally zero to the conversation.
Mitch is actually very good as an AD overall, but do I question some of the things he does (like lifetime contract with Cal, extension for Stoops in the middle of the season, etc)? Yep. But does he know more than I? Yep.That’s really a stupid thing to say. Mitch is not condescending. He is anything but. Best AD we have had. Gracious.
You do remember how he was toward the fans while Joker was HC, right? That’s really a stupid thing to say. Mitch is not condescending. He is anything but. Best AD we have had. Gracious.
Weak as water, but not this issueAnd yet some of our fans think he is a weak AD. Barnhart is very influential in the industry. He is also a member of the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.
im not a Barnhart fan but no way . We had the trio of football doom Harry Lancater , Cliff Hagan and CM Newton who kept UK in basement of college football for 60 years ..Worse ad ever for UK
I agree. Just means the bar is terribly low. He's beaten the hell out of any other UK AD in my lifetime. Perfect? No. Better than Hagan, Newton, or Ivy? Absolutely.
