Honest question - was he fired as a D1 position coach in those jobs, or was it as a coordinator or head coach?

I really don’t know…as others have pointed out, some guys just aren’t good in other positions. Many good coordinators are terrible head coaches, and many good position coaches are terrible coordinators.

I agree with concern about potential issues with the “team” of coaches perceiving (or misperceiving) favoritism due to nepotism.

Hopefully, Mike kills it as a LB coach, adds great insight to game planning, and bringa nothing but a team player attitude to the staff.
