Miami (OH) TV-It's only streaming. NO, you do not have to pay extra if you currently subscribe through cable/satellite/streaming service

Youtube TV is my espn provider.
Couldnt get past the subscription .
I'm also a youtubeTV subscriber. I logged into the ESPN app using my youtubeTV info and then looked for the volleyball game mentioned above (UGa vs somebody) and am able to watch it on SEC+ (it's on right now). I had no idea how to do this until doing that. Give it a try. I'm tech stupid but finally figured it out.
If I remember right, when the subscription option came up, I just clicked past the subscription options and went to the log in button and clicked it without choosing a subscription option. I think.

Go here.

If you don't have an account then create one and login. Don't sign up for anything.
Once you have an account then add your provider. You will have to search for youtubetv but it's there.
Enter your youtubetv account and you should be able to watch.

I recommend that you watch something sec+ before the game starts to make sure it's working. It does have a tendency to glitch you back to the subscription page.

Alternatively you can check the threads just before the game. There will be a ghost stream and maybe someone will post the link.

Spectrum technical support just told me they do NOT have an agreement with the ESPN plus app and there will b no way to watch it on spectrum without paying the extra ten bucks directly to ESPN even though I subscribe to ESPN tru them.
So there young fellas put that in your Funk and waganells and smoke it

Not reading this thread, but here's how I get the game for free with YouTube TV.

1. Download ESPN app on my Roku (not ESPN+)
2. Open app and log in. Go to settings in top right corner if necessary.
3. Create an ESPN account if necessary using email address.
4. Log in to ESPN app by choosing provider and following on-screen prompts. You must visit espn.com/activate and login through your provider using your credentials.
5. Once logged in, go to BROWSE in the top header. Select it.
6. From there scroll down until you find CHANNELS.
7. Select SEC Network+. You MUST choose the one with the plus and not the regular one.
8. From there, find the UK game. By game time it should be the very first thing listed since it will be live.

I am not real good at this, so please forgive me, but I would like to watch the game on my TV,

I have Spectrum cable and have ESPN and SECN. So, I do not stream these.

I've read all the threads and THINK I understand, but want to be sure.
Is it correct to say that I can watch the game using my Spectrum SECN capability, but it must be streamed on mobile phone, ipad, laptop or desktop computer ONLY ... and I cannot watch it on my TV ??

Thanks, in advance, for your kindness and patience with my ignorance.

FWIW .... game prediction: KY 34 Miami 14 ... GO CATS !!

is your tv a smart tv? Does it have an app section and the ESPN app? If so, you stream it from there. Or get a ROKU. Or Amazon Firestick.

Yes, our TVs are smart tv sets. It has app section, as we stream Netflix and Amazon Prime. I do not have the ESPN app. Are you saying that I can load the ESPN app and then will be able to stream the game ?? I hope you are right, but I did not understand that from all the discussions. I thought I had to have ESPN+ subscription. I did read that I could get SECN+ right before the game, but not on my TV unless I broadcast it from my cellphone, which there is no way I can handle that. I'm 70 years old and not up-to-date on this stuff, unfortunately.

I recently turned one box in to try out streaming Spectrum (and to save $10 per month) and can get to ESPN and SECN from the channel guide, just like on the cable TV we have ... if that makes a difference. I have not seen ESPN+ or SECN+ listed as channel options in the guide on the streaming tv we are learning to use ... currently.

They sent me a list of about thirty apps and said since ESPN plus was not on it there was no way to access it without paying . I am very familiar with the normal provide your provider info option but that does not come up on the screen . Only the pay option.
I hope I haven’t offended anyone on this thread . I’m in a lousy mood because my faithful little friend of 14 and one half years died yesterday. Then find I can’t even watch my team play ball without two hours of hassle .
Luckily my son has a big screen and said rather than fix mine to come on over .
I still think the seven figure ADs of the SEC that agreed to this nonsense made a huge customer unfriendly mistake.

Yes, you will need to download the ESPN app. Then check the post #124 above by KY Kid and follow his instructions.

Yes, go find the ESPN app and download it. The ESPN+ app is different and you do not necessarily need it. That's because ESPN+ is NOT included with your Spectrum subscription. However, if you have SEC Network as one of your cable channels, then you also have access to the SEC Network Plus.

You have to get the regular ESPN app in order to access the SEC Network Plus content. It doesn't have its own app for some reason.

Spectrum isn't working, at least not with the package I have with them. I suspect the package makes the difference for some which is the only explanation as to why it works for only one spectrum person.

Exactly @Glenn's take these guys are KILLING me.

Quit calling spectrum. I just looked at the list and took a screenshot. Spectrum is right there. You people ar making this WAY TOO DIFFICULT.

I do get the SEC package andSpectrum tech support people said it will NOT work regardless since they don’t have an agreement with the ESPN plus app.
for those laying this issue off on the SEC it is composed of the member schools . Our AD and others should have no to this nonsense .

I would have had a lot more respect for them if they had simply said “my million plus salary is simply not enough to live on . I need to clip u for another few hundred grand . So the first game will b on pay TV. Just b honest with people and don’t st around the table thinking up creative ways to screw more money out of your fans Without admitting that’s exactly what u are doing .

I can't watch live tonight - does anyone know if they put up replays of games, like, immediately? I obviously can't record it and we will be home by about 10:30-11 and would like to watch it then. I like to deprive myself of score updates and watch it as if it's live. I have ESPN+ if that matters.

Do you get the SEC Network as part of your spectrum package?

Yes but not as part of the ESPN or "sports package" or whatever it's called. Instead I save money by paying for 10 channels a la carte since I never watch tv unless it's sports.

If you get the SEC Network on Specttum, you should have no problem. Look at the screenshot I just posted. Spectrum is front and center on there

I know. I understand all that. Everything is linked to my spectrum which is why I can watch the regular ESPN stuff. It just isn't giving me the free ESPN+. It's either an issue account with more than one people or the a la carte stuff just isn't working and needs an update on the account side.

Did you follow the instructions in post #124? I had to do that to get the SEC + to work.

If you have ESPN/SEC Network in your subscription, you can authenticate and watch it online with SEC Network+. ESPN+ is for those who don't have a cable subscription.

Okay, gave me a good excuse to finally install our Fire Stick that step-daughter bought us last year. Our cable provider is Spectrum. We subscribe to SEC Network. Thanks, @Glenn's take

Fire Stick:

1. Find ESPN App. Install
2. Once inside the app, search for Kentucky.
3, You should receive two results for today's game: ESPN+ and SEC Network+. Please see photo below.

I literally set up my moms ESPN app on her firestick using her spectrum login and it works. Customer service is a bunch of guys in Pakistan reading over scripts in their third language. They don’t know anything.

I have set up the ESPN app. No problem . Problem is when u click on a plus game it does not give a provider option . Only option is to pay 9.99 on auto pay for a year . Did you click on a plus game and get the provider info screen .
guy selling ATT streaming who used to work for Spectrum and has a college degree in IT tried it for me also and could not make it work. Said ATT was the same that u have to buy ESPN plus separate. Suggested buying it for tonight and canceling it tomorrow. Not sure what the fine print says about that.
At any rate gave decided to watch both the Alabama game (my second team) and the UL game and cheer for Syracuse. I’ll watch the Cats when they are good enough to b on a real TV station.

KISS Keep it simple stupid .

I used her spectrum login info, and she has access SEC+ streams because her cable package includes the SEC network. Took 5 min. Dunno what to tell you man.

Don't click on the plus game. Instead, select BROWSE up at the top and then scroll down until you find the CHANNELS category and choose SEC Network Plus. You have to access it that way otherwise the TV provider will not recognize it.

Hope that helps.

Clicking on a game is not how you do this. Go login on the app and then validate using your provider.

Hallelujah! I ve got it on my three TVs operated on roku doing it the way u described. Still can’t figure out how to do it on my big LG Oled which is on the spectrum cable box . But at least that’s progress.
still going over to my sons house to watch it on his big screen.

Frankly I feel better that the computer science grad from West Virginia who worked for ATT and formerly for Spectrum said it could not b done .
if you guys have roku follow above instructions and it works fine .
Thanks .

Awesome! Glad you got it. Go Big Blue!

If any of you are novice Sling users, it is as simple as bringing up SECN+ at 7p ET and watching. If you don't have the Sports Add-On, then you'll need it. Surely if you are reading this and using Sling instead of cable you already have the Sports Add-On. You will NOT see it on the guide table, but click on SECN+ on the guide table, and the game is a selectable program.
