Matt Jones Slams Most Posters On Rupps Rafters As "Old Idiots"

Matt Jones, on his radio show this morning called out the posters on this message board as being, for the most part, "old idiots". Ouch! Please say it ain't so. I was having a good day...Oh, well...

EDIT: Matt, just saw my post and appeared to try and backtrack from what he said earlier about "old idiots" on this message board. He now says he was only talking about 20 posters on this board being "old idiots". He said these 20 people hated him.. I don't recall him limiting his initial remarks when he made reference to "old idiots" on this message board but I will review his podcast and make a correction if I am wrong. However, to those "20 old idiot" posters on this board who Matt Jones believes "hate him", there appears to be no remorse from Matt.

UPDATE: I just relistened to the KSR podcast this morning and obviously you can check it out yourself for confirmation but, in pertinent part, relative to my post, this is what Matt Jones stated:

..."Most of the people (on Rupp Rafters/Wildcat Lair) seeminglly hate me...Some of the times they are idiots. Most of the time they are idiots...It entertains me because of how old and angry people are on there."

Contrary to Matt's subsequent, belated and feeble attempt at backtracking from his earlier statements by contending, "there were only like 20 of them" (old idiots); his first comments clearly stated that "MOST of the people on this message board seemingly hate him..(and) MOST of the time they are idiots...It entertains me because of how OLD and angry people are on there." This is what he said. Go listen for yourself.

It is hypocritical for Matt Jones to cast an ageist slur towards "older" UK fans given his constant Democratic liberal pronouncements of how compassionate he and his party are towards their fellow citizens. Likewise, to call most posters on this message board, "idiots" for saying many of the same things he says is also disingenuous and hypocritical.

Now, most of the time, I enjoy listening to Matt Jones. He can be very entertaining. However, at times,.his arrogant and petulant personality can become repugnant. Today, was such an occasion.
I'm an outsider that semi trolls your board from time to time. I don't really understand what his issue is. This seems like a pretty good board to me. What's his deal?

Wonder who wrote the original post for Matt? If you have ever met him you will quickly realize that he is not quite capable of putting that many complete sentences together by himself.

I KNEW IT!
I knew I could literally click on this board right after he said that and there would be a post about it. Almost like in 1st Grade when you said something mean about another kid out by the teeter-totters, you just knew that kid would go running to your teacher before recess was over. Good grief.
You clicked tattle teller

I like his show, agree with a lot of his basketball opinions, think he needs football guys around him in the fall. He has a set of nads on him that allowed him to do what he has in an environment I am sure did not give him an open arms and welcome to the club type response when he got going.

He does come of cocky which doesn't wear as well on an older fellow as a young one and oughta be checked. He's awful quick to mock and make fun of some stuff that isn't as "rebellious" or "great radio" as he thinks.

Nonetheless, more power to him. He makes a product people want at the rate people want it. Lots of others had the opportunity where he had the vision and drive.

I don't like Matt Jones because of the way he treated me personally on two separate occasions. I then started listening to how he treats people if he doesn't follow what they are saying or if he doesn't understand what they are saying. He can be as rude and disrespectful as any AH I have ever heard. I am not the only person to form this opinion about him. Unfortunately anybody that has to inject politics into this discussion has an agenda other than sports that supports Matt's claim. He is an American and has every right to have his political views to say otherwise---well that's just UN-American. Matt Jones is the sole person responsible for forming my opinion of Matt Jones as a Kentucky bloviator. BTW this schtick is how Jones has operated his entire career, he likes to start a crap throwing confrontation and claim he is a fan of the fans. Seems he is trying to divide Kentucky fans into two groups: people for and people against HIM. It has nothing to do with age other than that is how he tries to make himself attractive to younger fans, the minions that defend him. His first interest is not Kentucky but himself personally and that is where his first and foremost agenda lies---himself. His discrimination about age is a juvenile bigoted attempt to justify his comments void consideration of others views.

So, anyone that defends him on any issue is a "minion", huh? Tell me more about consideration of other views again.

Why do you care so much? You started a thread and edited it several times because a man you dont even know made a generalized comment about people on a message board, he didnt even name you specifically.

Everytime one of my children come home from school and tell me someone called them a name or said something about them, I ask them the same thing: Why do you care?

I just dont get it at all.

Why do you care that he started the thread? Personally I think if Jones wants to go on the air and slam people on this board, then it's fair game for discussion.

Only problem i see with some posters is you cannot have freedom to think differntly then them or they basically try to bully and make you look stupid. I think this board would do well to at least try to respect a persons opinions, i understand if a person says Cal sucks or just trying to start trouble but if someone says they wish Cal would do certain things differntly but still wouldnt trade him for anything then you are still subject to get ripped in shreds, gotta love everything at all times, become a follower, pump sunshine and you never get noticed. Im just not that way, if i see somthing that i feel is not right, i speak up.

This is an outstanding post. Personal experience.

At the end of the day in Matt Jones world it is all about Matt Jones. One thing he is going to find out, he will need the Old Folks vote to win political office. So why is he burning bridges? His political opponent will have thousands of hours of radio to pull sound bites out and use them against him. Maybe he is not as smart as he pretends he is.
