Matt was commenting on the Bagley situation earlier and delved into the broader topic of uk recruiting. Matt's comment was that Duke is a step ahead right now, and the reason is 2 fold. 1- UK lost Antigua and is pretty much dependent on Kenny Payne for a vast majority of recruiting. 2- Duke has elevated their recruiting tenacity and success with the addition of Capel. Matt commented that we need another guy in the Antigua mold and Barbee is not that guy.
There was an additional point that is going unnoticed- Cal is doing really well in landing multiple players in the 5-20 range, but the lack of landing the true "stars" of the class is holding UK back. That's where K has moved ahead, he's landing more of the 1-5 ranked guys. I have to say, I think Matt nailed it.
