Listening along with the coach's radio show again tonight...

* Had a good meeting with the players today. Think they understand what it takes to play at that level they showed Saturday night. Have to bring that every week. They were coached hard last week, and took the hard coaching well. You set the new standard for how we have to prepare, how we have to play.

* Ohio won 10 games, two years in a row. They're not going to come in here and roll over. The MAC is no joke. They play hard, and you have to beat 'em. Challenging his team to hone in on details and be ready for a tough game this week.

* Asked about passing game, Stoops says everyone knows they've got to get better in that area. Georgia a tough group to get better in that aspect against, but no two ways about it, we've got to get better. Not worried about BVG and his mindset. He's tough-minded. Had to face two really tough passing defenses in his first two SEC starts. Did some nice things last week. There were some moments. We need to build on those.

* Caller expresses concern about offensive line and asks Stoops if they can set up a specific O-Line NIL. Stoops says yes, I'm all for it. You're right about the trenches, and we will get it fixed. We have a great offensive line coach who is also a great recruiter. Now I need to keep him here for a while. Says he's always been serious about OL. Said it at his first press conference, this is a line of scrimmage league, and we're falling a bit short in some aspects of our OL play. Noted that one SEC team has an automatic $50K NIL set up for OL the moment they walk in the door.

* If you want to apply any kind of hindsight to the end of the game, Stoops said they had two sack/fumble situations around that same spot on the field earlier in the game, and he wishes they had stuck with what had got them there, just run it and take their chances on 2nd and 3rd down.

* Stoops said they repped the play that UGA converted for 33 yards to essentially ice the game "a thousand times" in practice. Allowing that is still bugging him.

* Caller asks what it means for his team to be able to go toe-to-toe with the No. 1 team in the country and asks about what he thought of the crowd on Saturday... Stoops says he thinks it means a lot. Challenged the team. Wore his heart on his sleeve with them and media all week. SC wasn't the way he wanted his team to represent the state and the university. Really pleased his team answered that call. Now, can they keep focus and effort and discipline for a full 60 minutes and do what it takes to win. Never satisfied until that happens... Says the crowd was incredible. Was proud to be able to play in a way to reciprocate that support. Left it all on the field for the fans. Sometimes you can live with the outcome if you leave it all on the field.

* Stoops really happy with Raynor and his record-setting effort vs. UGA, but notes that he's still got Kauwe "ready in the bullpen" for a special situation of 60+ Has faith in him, and notes you can use him in four games and keep that redshirt in place, so you may see him sometime soon.

* Praised Zion Childress for his play vs UGA and noted that he's a great example to his teammates, always in the front row at meetings, always engaged, asking questions.

* Also praised Jamarion Wilcox, not just for the way he ran with the ball, but how hard he's playing on special teams and how physical he's been.

* Listener wants to know when they're going to use the TEs more... Stoops says they've been used a lot to help in the protection scheme. Would like to get them more involved. Georgia defends TEs pretty well, he noted. May be more opportunities coming up soon.

* Praised Mincey and Hairston for playing when they could have sat out. They were game-time decisions. Mincey showed a ton of guts, played every snap but one. Good job by Max. Fortunately, both are sore, but should be fine.

* Listener wants to know what it's going to take to get a balanced offense... Stoops says he desperately wants to have that. You know he wants a physical identity, but they've got to have the passing aspect, too. Notes that people think Tennessee is a pass-happy team, and they're running for 300+ per game. You can do both.
