If the refs had tried to call a fair game they would have had zero chance against us tonight. If they play like this in the tournament they might lose the first game.
My guess that will happen if they get a bracket with a set of defensive minded guard. Bama doesn't exactly play great defense.
Sears may flop a lot, but they shot over 50% from the field against us. That will win you a LOT of games in the tourney. It’s ok to be upset, but don’t be idiots with the takes.
If the refs had called the game fairly we would have held on to a 15 point lead early in the game. It becomes an entirely different game.
You can say I am wrong but no one knows. What I do know is that I watched the last 30 mins of the game and Bama flat0out beat us. Yes, the officiating bothered me, but not enough that I think we would have won . We had a bad game plan and zero ability to stop them, and a lot of the second half it felt lucky when we scored. You don’t have to agree with me, but that doesn’t mean you are absolutely correct and I’m absolutely wrong.
This! I told my son that this bama team relying on those calls will make it difficult to win in the tournament. You don't get those calls against duke ect! I don't even want the refs to reward our team like that.
I think our bad games plan was we were down three out of our four best guards and played freshmen by necessity .
They won because they have far better players 1-7 or 8 than we do . They start several 5th year seniors according to my pre game radio . I mean we open up with F Travis Perry against All American Mark Sears .. it's not going to end well.
If Bama plays “Duke, etc.” in the sweet 16 something has gone terribly wrong for them. Bama is talented enough that getting past the sweet 16 shouldn’t be a problem. However, once they make the elite 8 it’s going to be a toss up and they better bring their A game every night because they are flawed.
Yeah. They’re experienced. They had one freshmen who played a total of 7 mins. The others didn’t see the floor. The fact we played them like we did on the road with 3 freshmen playing significant minutes is a good sign for our future.
philon is a freshman. reid bama’s other mcdonald’s all american is out hurt. And remember LW one of their best players is out for the year.
Wrightsell (Sr) only played 8 games and Reid’s only played 18 games. They’re still loaded with 4th & 5th year guys and played well enough to be where they are this season.
