This is it - his brother knows how insane Arkansas basketball fans are - for better or worse. They're a loyal fanbase, but with no success to speak of in a recruit's lifetime, every in state kid leaving has a hellish reception back home, because they're afraid what they had is gone forever.

Well Monk made it official....this is amazing news. UK could start a Fab 5 of frosh next season. I really have no idea who else might be back, but as long as we have a few vets we will have a great team.

I'm not surprised this happened. Although I will say I didn't really see it coming literally hours after I made my thread congratulating Kentucky on kicking Duke's butts last night. Anyway, congrats on this wonderful 24 hour stretch in getting Monk and Adebayo to be a part of your 2016-2017 team on top of already having Fox, Killeya-Jones and Gabriel on board and kicking Duke's butts on the court. Calipari is an out of this world recruiter.

I taught all morning so I didn't see it. Then I got on here and saw several threads that seemed to ask if UK recruiting was done for 2016. "No, what about Monk?" I thought. Then I googled and saw the news. I had to get up and walk from my table in the library into an unpopulated part of the library, because I thought I was going to yell. Wow. Unbelievable.

He didn't need Kentucky to make it to the NBA, true, but him and his boys did need to talk trash before getting their ish pushed in against last year's Kentucky team in order for anyone outside of Arkansas fans and NBA scouts to know who he was.
Just watched one of his mixtapes.....Malik Monk may be the best athlete Cal has had here.
