Probably neither. I don't believe visits sway recruits one way or another really. At the end of the day it will come down to does Malik want to compete for a title and maximum exposure next year. If so, the choice is clear.

Well they may or may not but some of them have come out and have said that the visit is what sold them on going to a certain school in the past. And honestly how could a visit not affect them?

Now when you are choosing between UK and Arkansas then your most likely correct.

I get why you're saying this, and I used to think similarly, but Miles Bridges just came flat out and said his Sparty visit changed his mind.

So they always do worry me

Of course, visits sway recruits. If they didn't why would athletic departments spend millions of dollars to keep their facilities up to par with everyone else. And why would coaches go out of their way to impress them while they're on campus. Hell, for that matter, why would you even ask a recruit to visit...if that visit isn't going to sway them one way or the other?

Ask Miles Bridges about the effect of visits. They can and do sway recruitments. It's important to get that visit. How many recruits to you know commit without visiting a school? Not many.

Julius Randle said he knew he wanted to come to UK since his visit. It can be a major advantage for recruits to see what you have to offer and it moat definitely can sway a recruit.

And why would UL hire hooke... Strippers?

Yes and no. Bridges said it was mostly because of Winston's commitment more so than the visit. Monk has visited Arkansas many times unoffically -- he knows what's there.

So what you're saying is that this is a KU/UK race?

What about Kyle Wiltjer who committed after zero visits? Point is, it's easy to pick one example. In general, I don't think visits make that big of a difference. UK just put on a huge spectacle at Big Blue Madness and nobody expects Giles or any of the others who attended to be swayed much as a result.

I think visits are more important for players ranked below Top 15. They get to see the facilities and meet the players. As to the top 15 players, they are looking at "where do they need me the most?". and "who am I going to play with?". These players know that they have good chance, if now sure chance, to make NBA
Draft. I think Monk wants to play at UK and be on national TV 35 times next year.
However, he must avoid the harassment he will receive if he verbals before the spring deadline. I think he will have his bags packed when he verbals to UK.

So you're saying there's a chance!

I agree. Monk has no incentive at all to commit to UK before his basketball season ends. Half the people at his HS and in the area would be pissed.

Guys he just wants to see some slutty nurses and slutty police officers haha Halloween parties were always the most epic during my time at UK.

It's going to be hard waiting for this kid -- but perhaps the longer he waits the better for us?

Archie committed early and he survived.

The irony here is that if Monk comes to UK, he'll likely get more exposure for the state of Arkansas than if he went to Fayetteville. That is to say, no one cares about Arkansas basketball, and Monk going there won't change that.

And why would UL hire hooke... Strippers?
Now you know they were just nice girls who happened to be visiting a friend in the dorms and decided to show their appreciation to their favorite team by dancing in their bikinis. No self-respecting school would hire strippers or hookers for players and recruits. It just doesn't happen. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The only way it impacts anything is if he moves his announcement date to around/shortly after his visit. With Bridges, you knew what was going down when he canceled BBN trip and announced earlier.

I don't see this being the case w/Monk. He pushed it a week, maybe he has family get together, maybe he's hanging with a friend, maybe he has a birthday to attend, etc. Who knows, but if he says I'm taking the visit on 10/31 and announcing the next week...then we are screwed.

I don't understand what Michigan could offer that would make Bridge change his mine.

The above post was a joke. The Auburn game got moved up to 11am on Saturday and Malik is taking his ACT that morning as well. He's coming for Homecoming the following weekend.

Just curious, what are the benefits to picking Arkansas over Kentucky in your opinion?
