Louisville Situation: Just Bizarre. . . .

Easier said than done, but if I were Louisville, I would first and foremost try to find a guy that really wants to be the head coach at Louisville, not just a head coach somewhere. There is a big difference.

Surely they have some alums with coaching experience that would love to take over the UL job? Sort of the Jerry Claiborne approach UK took in the 1980s.

I can actually understand Louisville not willing to give him more money to stay. Satterfield certainly hasn't set the world on fire. What I can't understand is why Cincy would hire this guy of all people, seeing his body of work at Louisville. They must have had zero options and panicked or something. Hell, I could draw a name out of hat and likely find a better coach than Satterfield.
We gave a 2 million dollar raise to a guy who just went 7-5 and couldn't beat Vandy at home - it's like Monopoly money.

UL's headliner recruiting class is now teetering on the brink. More than a month ago, I predicted multiple important decommits. I did not foresee their coach leaving for UC, but I had a feeling things would go wrong. Things almost always do go wrong over there.

Same with the Brohm issue. He turned down the UL job once, and will probably turn it down again. Even if he takes the job, he is not ten feet tall. It would not take very long before he would regret it. UL is a big mess.

So, once again, those who were worried about UL's football program catching up with up on the basis of one recruiting class can take a chill pill.
All signs are pointing to Brohm. Of course, he could always change his mind last minute.

I just have one question. Is there any Power 5 program in existence that's as screwed up as the University of Louisville football & Basketball, and why. IMO Jeff Brohm would be crazy to make the move to Louisville.

Why would he be crazy? Alma mater. His jersey is retired. Elderly parents and family live in Louisville. Easier path to the playoff. NIL dollars.

Rueben is rated by some as the number one running back in the class.
Committed to A&M. Seems NIL was a great influencer in his decisions. Reportedly, he received a call from former HL RB coach informing the coach was headed to UC. Upon that news, he flipped to A&M.
