Satt has seven wins, wants an extra 500K, and is sitting on a strong Class.

Louisville offers two year extension and apparently no more money.

I have always wondered if any of their Blue-Chippers even weighed Satt in making their choice.

All of this change, without any real fight by Louisville, tells me that the Blue-Chippers really were not particularly sold on Satt, and that everyone in the Card Lair knew it.

And I could be wrong.

Given the luck of the Cards the last 6 years, Brohm will still say “no,” and the vaunted signing class slips away,

I can actually understand Louisville not willing to give him more money to stay. Satterfield certainly hasn't set the world on fire. What I can't understand is why Cincy would hire this guy of all people, seeing his body of work at Louisville. They must have had zero options and panicked or something. Hell, I could draw a name out of hat and likely find a better coach than Satterfield.

Assuming that UL already had plans and had an agreement under the table for someone to step in I say yeah go ahead and tell him to piss off. However, you lose your coach for 500,000 (chump change in CFB today) without a back up plan in place and locked in you are going to look stupid.

U6 has wanted brohm for years. They must know he is ready to come there. He will probably do a lot better in the weak acc. Clemson will be his only challenge.

And he'll only have to deal with UK for two seasons.

Much as I wish you're right; I have a feeling that we'll still get stuck with Louisville as a yearly opponent. The three P5 conferences that already have a 9 conference schedule still almost across the board keep one P5 OOC. So, guess who we'll still be playing?

Brohm turned them down once before. Since then, he has built a strong program at Purdue. The Boilermakers pretty much held their own in a competitive loss to undefeated MI in the B10 championship game. If the UL boosters think Brohm will change his mind this time, it's possible they might get surprised again.

Certainly possible he changes his mind, but he’s got a good setup at Purdue. The division he’s in might have been the worst of all the power 5 conferences this year.

They’re lucky they’re now getting paid for Satt to leave rather than having to pay to fire him. I expect the class to fall apart despite what their fans say tho
It seems like all current commits are in the wait and see mode right now. One thing we found out today that at least I didn’t know about is if their is a head coaching change commits can take a second official visit to the school.

It was the best case scenario for both parties. Satterfield took less money with the best class he will ever get. He wanted out. Being a Louisville fan he lost a big chunk of fan base. The UK game and UK’s dominance in the game played a big role in the extension and no raise.

Heird played it well but he still has the same problem with the Brohm factor. He can’t afford to miss considering the basketball disaster.

He could teach a class in coach speak, he just gave a clinic on it. Exact same speech every lame coach gives at every new job they take. Wonder how many Cincy players will be on board with Satterfield and who will hit the portal. Do they have any nice players on that roster worth going after?

The whole school and athletic department has been a dumpster fire since before he was hired and it didn't get any better. He's on his second President and AD. Tyra left because he couldn't get along with Bendaputi (sp), she jumps ship because she sees UofL for the trash heap it is. The new AD isn't exactly making waves so far. (Kenny Payne hire) Not sure why he jumped at the UofL offer. It was obviously not a good fit. Maybe Cincy is a better fit, but he should have stayed at App St. a little longer and waited for something that better fit his personality.

I’m gonna be honest. I hope Louisville whips his ass in the bowl game. Satterfield is so spineless. He’s needs to take that L.
Actually going to be an interesting game. Obviously he won't be coaching Cincy in that bowl game though, watching and evaluating, yeah, but coaching will be left up to an interim coach. Will Cincy even be motivated to play though? Their coach left them and now they have this underwhelming lame dude coming in. Can't really be a recipe for stoking their desire to play a game in Boston in December. I think Louisville has more reason to be motivated.

y can’t that school get its act together. It is an embarrassment really. It seems like the entire city is that way. Is it too many big dick swingers trying to rule over one another?

Has it been announced officially either way if Scott’s Tot’s will coach during the bowl game?

Considering how every Louisville football coach, basketball coach, AD, and even university president leaves town this situation isn't bizarre at all. Unless bizarre for them doesn't involve lawsuits, the FBI, or a sex scandal - then yes very bizarre that a coach just left for a better opportunity.

What the hell is uc thinking with this hire? their fb team has been fun to watch over the past several years, with their coaches moving on to bigger and better gigs. i think they could’ve done better but time will tell.

No there has not been anything made official except Deion Branch is going to coach Louisville in the bowl game. However we do think the DC Bryan Brown and the QB Coach Pete Thomas will go with Satterfield.

If I were any coach in America thinking of taking the U6 job, you have to be aware of conference realignment and U6 being left out of everything.

Cincy has made smart hires before, Fickle, Brian Kelly, Butch Jones won big. This is a dumb & puzzling hire like them getting Tommy Tubberville.

Just not sure how a guy who worked in the Carolinas and ACC projects to win In (1)this new Big 12, which is basically nationwide, and (2) recruits in the Midwest, not Satts turf.

She “jumped ship” because it was Penn State, a very prestigious job.

I didnt know that either but probably a good rule

Not unusual from a timing standpoint as this is the time every year the coaching carousel kicks into high gear. It was just a dick move on his part not to address the team in person. It's a dick move for any coach to address the team their leaving via social media, even if the kids find out before hand, at least have the dignity to show your face to them one last time.

UL's headliner recruiting class is now teetering on the brink. More than a month ago, I predicted multiple important decommits. I did not foresee their coach leaving for UC, but I had a feeling things would go wrong. Things almost always do go wrong over there.

Same with the Brohm issue. He turned down the UL job once, and will probably turn it down again. Even if he takes the job, he is not ten feet tall. It would not take very long before he would regret it. UL is a big mess.

So, once again, those who were worried about UL's football program catching up with up on the basis of one recruiting class can take a chill pill.

Part of why I think Adidas was investing so heavily in them, to make them more attractive to conference suitors.

I would have agreed with you 6 months ago but with the playoff expanding to 12 it is a non factor . Hell, Cincy made it in last year being in whatever conference they are in. The conference talk is moot unless you are talking about who makes more money but its irrelevant as far as getting into the playoffs.
