He is recovering nicely from his surgery. Between now and time for the draft a lot of changes can and will be made in his condition. I think he definitely will get drafted unless he decides to stay for another year.

As crazy as it sounds, if we have 6 go pro - I wouldn't be surprised to see Cal add one more guard. Maybe a Simmons or a JuCo. Regardless we will be LOADED - I am truly more excited about next years recruiting class more than any other of the Cal era - which is saying something.

Let's hope he demonstrates that he's past the injury totally and shows what he's capable of. His playing himself into draft position can only be helpful for us.

Or reclassify another kid.... i.e. Humphries.

Never know what Cal has up his sleeve.

Lee, Ulis, and Briscoe all need to return.. and so does the platoon .. but with 3 this time.. white, blue, & red

He could apply for another year eligibility because he was hurt before he played in the maximum amount of games last year.

I really hope he does this.

And for everyone freakin out about the pro comment, he's no pro IMO. Him making a roster would floor me unless his injury is really, really, REALLY, holding him back.

But hey, being wrong is cool with me. If he can take a pick this year, he should.

If Alex does not get drafted/or make a roster he should become a fnancial advisor for nba players. He could make a living with just his teammates.

Well, one thing is that if they get sick, I assume they might drop some weight. I've never heard of anyone getting shorter due to illness, unless it is really bad, like Gangrene.

At the point where a few of them get sick, I would hope that the team doctors would have the sick players quarantined to keep whatever it is from spreading.

I think Poythress is a lock for at least the early to mid-second round and I think he'll end up on somebody's roster next year. They don't all have to go in the first round you know. He has no real upside to coming back for a fifth year.

Lol @ Humphries starting
Bam is playing the 5 and Gabriel the 4
SKJ has the 3
Cal will start the 5 best players he has, and Humphries will be the 6th best player next year.

So nice to have all these studs wrapped up in the Fall.
Has Cal ever done that before or has there always been 1 or 2 that sign in the spring?

What I think some fail to appreciate is that this is an epic recruiting class in an unusually strong high school class.

Fox, Monk, and Bam are each good enough to have been No. 1 recruits in some years, and I think all 3 are potential lottery picks and good enough to one day be NBA All-Stars.

Gabriel and SKJ meanwhile are two guys who are developing rapidly, and either could emerge as a lottery level talent next year. Think about that.

I think Lee, Briscoe, and Ulis are gone, but add those 5 recruits to Matthews, Wynyard, Humphries, Willis, Mulder, Hawkins, etc. and it's on.

That's a 5 frosh lineup, going to struggle some early. Loads of talent but they need an upperclassmen to lead.

Cal said himself Gabriel is a guard at 6-10 so no he will play the 3 SKJ has the skillset of a 4 and BAM can play the 4 or 5. I wouldn't laugh at Humphries starting at the 5 either next year could very well happen after all hes 7-0 already at 17 and has a really nice offense game with a year older, exp and Cal"s system he will be a different player next year.

U got the 3 and 4 backwards. Cal even talks about in his recruiting video Gabriel being a wing player.

Our rotation will be:

Humphries/Wynyard
Bam/SKJ
Gabriel/Willis/Matthews
Monk/Matthews/Mulder
Fox/Hawk

I think Humphries will be pretty damned good by next year, but the unknown quantity is how good SKJ will be by the time he arrives. If he's too good not to start, you put him at PF with Bam at Center and Isaac the first big off the bench.

PG- Ulis
SG- Monk
SF- Gabriel?
PF- BAM!!!
C- Humphries

PG Fox
PF/C Jones
PF Wynyard
SG Matthews
SG Mulder
SF Willis (could maybe play PF in spots?)
PG Hawkins (could maybe play SG in spots?)

Just a poor prediction based on the guys I have seen play.

How about the "sick" team we have right now? The team we have now may be better than next years team. Enjoy that!

Seriously that's a helluva idea. One of these players that comes through needs to make a run at that.
