The NBA talk is killing Calipari whether some want to understand it or not.. He has got to get out front of the issue. At this point it is CLEAR platoons have absolutely nothing to do with this situation. There is far too much room on our roster to take credible the notion that "playing time" here is of convern to these kids.
Cal isn't going to just whiff 6 times in a row on his main late signing period targets without there being an issue. This isn't just the class either, and signing a new deal is not going to help this at all. Some of thee guys want to play more than one year. Actually, lots of them do. It appears now some of these recruits dont trust he's a guarantee over the next 2 to 3 years.
The sky isn't falling, but it's something Cal needs to get out in front of if he's going to continue to put value on recruiting so many OAD's. We missed on even more recruits than we really know this year because of wasting so much time on guys who never came. I'm sure Cal is livid at this situation right now, but If he won't get out in front of it then it means he's open to change eventually and we will just have to recruit with that in mind; however, you won't get it both ways. You will not land consistent top 3 classes while flirting with the NBA and not putting it to bed. Buying into the coach speak is what this board does - recruits and their families, however, don't. Saying you're not interested while its known you in fact have been is all that matters as far as optics are concerned.
I was told last week by coaches here in memphis he's Kansas bound. You can find the post where I made the statement and of course was dismissed pretty quickly. I'm not surprised by any of this.
