Most folks would like to be given 2.475 mil to go away.
She had a good first season (probably with Mitchell's players), then an unexpected SEC tournament championship in her second season. Then it went in the trash can in the next two seasons. Her contract was probably based on the first two seasons.Lol this contract is obscene. What on earth did she do to warrant such a contract? Absolutely nothing, on the court at least.
I'd take itMost folks would like to be given 2.475 mil to go away.
Good job Mitch one fluke run and it cost us 3 million. That’s 3 years of Men’s recruiting budget. This according to Cameron Drummond of Kentucky Sports amongst others.
2,474,999 more to be exact. That's about 2.474 more than she's worth.
But the pay gap! Even though her job brings in zero revenue lol.247,500 seems like a more appropriate salary for a coach of a sport that no one cares about.

It’s insane, besides being a CEO I can’t think of any other position outside coaches that get paid huge money to go away.It still amazes me that sucking at the one thing you’re hired to do…win….is not termination with cause. What an upper hand coaches created.
I imagine Elzy will get an assistant job somewhere and that number will be cut to about 500k/year over the next 3 years for the buyout.

I guess that’s a “position” sometimes at least.baby mommas or unwanted ex wives
It wouldn’t be if you gave it to 10 kids across the state for a full ride to UK.2.5 is chump change for UK though. Still too much.
That would probably pay for about 25 kids full rides. It wouldn’t be if you gave it to 10 kids across the state for a full ride to UK.

You realize that the board of trustees has to approve these contracts, right?Barney needs to be fired for that contract.
He raise when she signed the extension was about $150k...not totally outrageous. The biggest screw up was the 100% buyout when fired without cause. I think he probably could have done 50% or so and owed about a million less at buyout time.I don't really follow it, but I seem to remember basically everyone leaving very early on which resulted in immense struggles then that surprise tournament run.
If that's so, I get the extension. That part is fine. I don't get overpaying by at least twice when the coach must recognize they were a miracle run away from being unemployed.
So imo the contract is still obscenely bad. Mitch just strikes me as someone who doesn't understand how to use leverage. When he has it, it's like he doesn't know. When he doesn't, he's basically hat in hand.
But the BoT also respects Mitch and his oversite of the athletic department. Contracts fall squarely on the AD imo.You realize that the board of trustees has to approve these contracts, right?
Could you imagine Mitch as a financial advisor? It must be so easy to waste the money of others ... mindlessly rolling the dice and still get paid to do it ... it must be a UK thing. This according to Cameron Drummond of Kentucky Sports amongst others.

I agree. But that’s not what Murica market wants. It wouldn’t be if you gave it to 10 kids across the state for a full ride to UK.
She received it after beating SC n SEC tourney finals….Lol this contract is obscene. What on earth did she do to warrant such a contract? Absolutely nothing, on the court at least.
