I have zero concern about not getting Bamba. Having Diallo and Green sealed the deal. ( as long as Bam leaves)
lol @ Matt Jones pretending to have sources again. Basically, if Bamba comes here he can say "Most of my sources confirmed this". If Bamba doesn't then it looks like he has a well connected "source".

Oh boy....here we go. It will be okay, guys. There is a ton of front court talent already signed and with Gabriel, SJK, Humphries and Wynyard, UK will be fine. Not worried if Bamba goes elsewhere. He has to make that choice and as Calipari always says "Kentucky is not for everyone." More concerned about guard play next year....

With MJ, especially at this point and time of the year when things are getting ready to become e x t r e m e l y s l o w, he likes and needs to insert a little drama into anything he can to maintain an active and attentive audience. We may not get Bamba but most think we will and MJ knows it.

Exactly this. There will still always be people on this board who believe Jones is one of the most well connected UK sources. Some believe he gets info directly from the coahing staff. Im not saying they dont throw him a few bones here and there but he's probably one of the last to know of any actual important developments.
I'm not buying that there is anything definitive that Bamba won't be coming to Kentucky, especially with how glowingly he just spoke of Green this week.
The only thing more annoying than listening to Matt Jones and Ryan Lemond giggle like schoolgirls over the most idiotic things is listening to Jones' pointless and sanctimonious political beliefs.. like anyone gives two sh--s what he thinks. But being the uber liberal that he is, and he's way more liberal than he lets on, he can't help himself.
I think at some point, Bam will get an Agent. If he hears decent news from teams through Coach Cal or some other method. I would assume that to ease the process, he'll get an agent.
All I'll say is that if he takes an honest look at both K and Cal's track record with big men (especially shot blocking big men) and picks K, then he made a really poor choice. You can bring up education, but he is OAD no matter where he goes and it'll be a while before he goes back and gets that degree to make his family happy. If he picks Texas, then his concern is not about playing for a contender.
The education side is silly. Because technically speaking, you can just enter Harvard. LOL, come to UK for basketball then go to Harvard for college education.
the only thing that bothers me is the waiting. some kids get tired of waiting and all the pressure and just say I am going here. I wish Bam would either come out and say going or staying so Bamba can make up his mind. some of these coaches can get in his ear and say Bam coming back better sign with us now
Well, a college basketball scholarship gives you basically a free pass into bypassing admission criteria to a school. Most people aren't ever getting into Harvard without using an athletic scholarship route.
However, unless you're getting a very specific degree from a certain program, the school you attend is vastly overrated barring that you don't make it in basketball and want to have a degree to fall back on.
I'm sure a 5-star recruit who plans to be a OAD does not have their "degree in ..." very high on their list of priorities.

In my mind, I'm not allowing myself to get stoked about him coming here until I know for sure. All this speculation can just drive a man crazy. Remember the whole Bolden soap opera we endured last year?
Bam isn't making Bamba wait. Bamba is waiting because he is cool with it.
At the same time, what's the hurry? If UK is where he wants to be, he simply waits until Bam is for sure not returning and signs. If it's not UK, then he just commits elsewhere. The longer he waits, the more likely he's waiting for UK. It's not like another school is going to pull his offer if he waits. He could show up in August on any campus and enroll and a scholarship would be handed to him.
We may be loaded next year with big guys but not sure we have a major difference maker in the bunch like Bamba. He would make us a totally different team and I want him here rather than at a place like Duke or another Blue Blood. Plus, Bam is likely gone and who knows what Humphries will do yet so we may not be as loaded as we could be.
I don't think it's coaching staff. He says that they don't tell anyone anything. More likely an Evan Daniels type guy.
So I have a friend who knows a recruiting expert pretty well. Take this for what you will, I wouldn't bet my life on it, but I don't think this guy would lie to me.

I think we're talking about different things. There is a deadline for entering the draft, but there is an NCAA deadline for those who declared but want to return to school. I think that is in April.
