What can some of you tell me (the rest of us) about Koby Brea's health status? Maybe this has already been discussed, but I haven't seen or don't remember what was said. I know that at Dayton Brea had a lot of issues with stress fractures involving both of his tibias. I read that he had rods inserted in both legs to help with that issue. Is he now dealing with that again?

Oh, no, please I hope not.
The surgery was last year, and he recovered and played last season. So, I'm not saying he got reinjured or won't play. But I think I read something recently about him not practicing just yet due to some issue, so I'm just trying to get more information. Not trying to cause panic. I just know if there is any information out there somebody on this board has seen it.

It’s a process

I don’t think CMP would hide anything intentionally but medical information is protected by law. They are not in season so roster availability isn’t being discussed. HIPPA says no one can talk about your health without your consent so?? I have seen someone say it’s just precautionary??

HIPAA only constrains your medical provider and people they work with, not everyone.

It's just none of our business at this point.

I read on another board that Brea had an off season procedure done and they are just taking no chances with him.

Have no clue what the procedure was.

He does 100% have rods in both legs. You can Google the stories about that. That said, surgery was last spring and he missed no time last season...so was back with call it 6 months at minimum.

I saw him at Father Son camp but no one was really playing. No scrimmages or anything like that this year.

It is July...wouldn't fret it.

He will play guys. Don’t worry , he’s not at a level klutch can afford to tell him to protect draft stock . If he wants to have any pro career he has to play and make them take notice

Could it be like a football team holding guys out of Spring practice to focus on rehab and S&C and that he should be fine come October?

Nothing serious. One of the rods came loose and they had to rebreak his leg and replace the rod. Once he relearns to walk with that leg again, he'll be good to go.

I know some will take this bunch of hooey and run with it lol.

I've also heard they're adding bionic sensors with piston like rods, that when Koby jumps he will contract to about 6' versus his normal 6'6" and provide him with a 60-70 inch verticle by inflating quickly back to 6'6"".

It’s good but you want to lose the disclaimer at the end. Cool people don’t need it and surely you don’t care what anyone else thinks.

This is BS. I wish Pope was not keeping information from the fan base. We are entitled to know everything going on with the program. We deserve a daily update from the man himself. He needs to stop lying to the fan base and tell us what the heck is going on with Koby.

I’m curious… I know this post is satire, but what exactly is the point? To call attention to the fact that a lot of UK fans are crazy and need a life outside UK basketball? Or to try to justify Calipari’s vague and aloof behavior concerning injuries (and many other things) by implying that Pope is no better?

Other than trolling, there is no point.

Daily updates need to br 6 a day.😁

This is the only roster in recent memory where I feel like the bench will be just as good as the starters. I don't even have a healthy Brea starting. He might be our 4th best wing player, actually. But having him healthy is a must. Glad to see that he's practicing.

It was a wrist injury and nothing to do with his legs. It was reported on ON3 during the first scrimmage against LaFamilia. It said it was minor and he would be back in a couple of weeks or something to that effect. I mentioned it earlier in a thread when people asked why he wasn't mentioned when discussing how players are doing. I said he doesn't have any thing to report because he has been out with a injured wrist.

Edit : I posted about Brea's injury in the "Perry Shooting" thread when a poster mentioned "it has been too quiet on his info".
