Kind of troubling number

This offense is not designed to run 75+ plays a game. No pro style offense is. All NFL offenses averaged around 65 per game. I find funny that for years people on this board begged for a pro style offense and a good drop back passer. Now the O is exactly that and people still complain.
The issue is, most posters are people who genuinely care, but don't really know much about the sport of football or how it is ran. We have bball fans trying to catch up and all they know is flash. That's ok, I get we haven't been historically good in football

Kentucky has scored 72 points in two games. Taking out the 14 points scored by special teams and punt return, that leaves 58 scored by the offense. that's 29 points per game scored by the offense in an average of 57 offensive plays per game. That's a little over 0.50 point per play. I don't know how that compares with other teams but i would think it is pretty good.

You raise a very interesting point. A bit of research brought up this:

UK ranks #2 overall! 😲 Looking at the numbers, two caveats: 1) only games versus FBS opponents are counted, so we have only one game to consider (Ball State); and 2) doesn't appear to distinguish how points are scored.
