Kentucky v. Sam Houston State

This is a great example of why Gabriel is terrible. The pitcher is number 30 and for some reason Gabriel gives us stats for some random player. He says it's Jacob Finke, number 20. Finke is an outfielder and Gabriel is doubling down on his mistake.

Squires safety squeezes to score the run. 6-1 Kentucky.

Aklinski works a full count before taking a walk. I like that Ben hustles to first on a walk. Wild pitch advances Aklinski. Becker hits one into center over the fielder who played it poorly and he gets his second triple of the weekend!!!
7-1 UK

That was a stand-up triple. Cottam then grounds out to end the inning.

7-1 going to the 9th

Another triple. I love the fact that we seem to be getting more and more confident at the plate.

Haake staying in with this lead.

Hahaha holy cow on that triple the umpire almost took out Becker rounding first.

Haake working a full count and is having yo fight hard, but he reaches back and blows a fastball by for out 1. Lots of pinch hitters here for the Bearkats. Haake gives up a base hit up the middle.

Haake left another one mid plate on that single. Another full count and Haake gets a called strike three. The guy loves to throw Ks. Two outs now

Base hit to right puts runners on first and second. This one a little looper over Becker.

Haake having a bit of trouble locating but his stuff is still pretty good. He works another full count before giving up a double to left. It faded from Shinn and it scores another run. 7-2 now .

Runners at second and third. Mach up in the pen. Belanger makes a short mound visit.

Haake works ahead this time, but it gets back to even and then to another full count. Have they all been full this inning? Called strike three ends it!!!

Kentucky wins 7-2

Another solid win. Would be great to get a road / neutral sweep this weekend with a super tough Tx Tech team coming to LEX next weekend. Hope that UK can pack the cliff, even with the SEC basketball tourney going on...

How about them Cats, go into Houston and beat the 2 local teams by a combined 21-4 count, they probably won't ask us back for a while
Most down here don't even know that we have a baseball team, much less a good one. I'm sure that fans in Houston thought that UK was going to be the team to use for "tune up" games.

Yep really looking forward to the Tech series

Actually most down here thought Kentucky would do exactly what it has done! LL fan thinks we’ll score 15 tomorrow. He said pitching was their strength and they had trouble scoring.

How has your experience at the ball park been the past 2 days ? Can you pretty much sit near the UK dugout ?

Lousiana beating Vandy now. They've had a tough weekend so far.

ULL also doesn't seem to have a set weekend rotation, so it is somewhat unclear who we might face.

I will be there for my first in person game of the year. Cannot wait.

Sat behind dugout, one row in front of Mitch Barnhart. Great experience and proceeds go to Shriners hospital. The ambassador for Shriners is the young man who does the commercial whose first name is Alec. Youngster from Shriners in Lexington threw out the first pitch on Friday. Quite a few Cat fans. Wonderful weekend series and would repeat the experience without hesitation.

One thing about the first pitch today...The girl who threw is a patient at Shriners in Lexington but she threw it to her brother. Thought that was pretty cool.
