Kentucky is about to go on a 9 game win streak

No denying we peed down our pants vs UNC-W.

But we were supposed to lose to Kansas. We were supposed to lose to A&M. We were the underdog in both games.
We were the underdog because Vegas doesn't trust our overwhelming talent to play defense yet.

Citing Vegas for whether we should be favored or not does nothing to satisfy the question of why we aren't favored in these games. Calipari continues to minimize expectations, even in Vegas, and even when we're the more talented team. It's getting old.

What does it say about the state of our program, and our Coach, when we are "supposed" to lose to anybody? That's a defeatist attitude, and speaks volumes of the level of brainwashing we've reached with Cal.

WE HAVE NOT BEEN TO A FINAL FOUR SINCE 2015.

No one goes 40-0. I think everyone is "supposed" to lose games. I don't know that the name Kentucky across the chest means it's unacceptable to ever lose. The elite teams typically lose 4-5 games per year.

You guys write this stuff like you expect every coach to never lose. It's unrealistic.

We've come from a bad place, but we finally have a good team again.

The whole parity argument makes me want to hand out participation ribbons and pat everybody on the back.

(Edited). Dominate and take no prisoners. I really despise the man that Rick Pitino became, and would not advocate for him to return, but at least he HATES LOSING.

I just think there's too much parity in college basketball for any team to be favored in every single road game.

Things were different in 2012 and 2015. Covid-19 has led to 24 year olds playing college basketball. NIL is bringing more guys back to college than ever before. And guys are leaving their mid-major programs for more NIL $ at Power 5 schools. The talent is more consolidated.

Yes, our defense needs work. But I also think it's "ok" to not be favored a handful of times every year. I don't think Duke is always favored in every single game. UNC isn't always favored.

I don't mind losing games to highly ranked teams. We have a coach that loses to the likes of UNCW, and yet we have some fans patting him on the back and telling him "that's ok coach, we'll get the next one".

Not acceptable, and it never should be. SOFT. JUST SOFT.

F*ck that. Dominate and take no prisoners. I really despise the man that Rick Pitino became, and would not advocate for him to return, but at least he HATES LOSING.
I mean.

You're just talking fantasy. "We're Kentucky so we should dominate." Cool. No one is doing it. Kansas should have lost 2 games. They're a blue blood. UNC has lost games. Blue Blood. Duke has lost I think 3 games. Blue blood. UCLA is absolutely awful. Blue Blood.

But hey, Kentucky can't ever not dominate. We have Kentucky on our chest!

Yup. UNC-W was unacceptable. $hit lost and Cal deserves to catch heat for that one.

A&M is a tournament team. Losing to them on the road...that kind of thing happens to everyone. Houston lost twice last week. Their coach isn't suddenly awful.

Invert your last statement and you'll start the see the problem. We haven't dominated since 2017 while other teams have, and consistently. That's the issue.

Accepting a lower standard is why we're in this present quandary as a program. Our coach is paid on an elite level to keep us at an elite level. This means UK handles their business against 9-6 teams. No excuses, especially when your roster features 7 or 8 future NBA players and the other team only has one.

I'm not accepting a lower standard. The last 2 years, I've called for Calipari to be fired. This year, we're good. Despite their record, A&M is a good basketball team.

FWIW, You guys always talk about accepting a lower standard like my acceptance or lack thereof affects anything.
I spent 2 years saying "Fire Cal!!" and he hasn't been fired. I can assure you, my take on the matter has no bearing on what happens with Cal or the baskebtall team.

This whole "just dominate" thing sounds great. It's not realistic. Kansas just lost to UCF--who is worse in the NET and Kenpom than A&M. Why can't they just dominate?

Sure we have a ton of NBA talent. They're freshmen. They don't always play perfect basketball. There are growing pains.

While I'm not gonna sit here and tell you Calipari is perfect, I don't think a Quad 1 road loss is some abject failure. It would have been a good win. So it isn't a terrible loss.

Yet they stayed at #3 and became (maybe? didn't look that up to confirm) the first ever 1 seed in the history of the NCAA tournament with 7 losses last season. For some reason it doesn't matter what Kansas does, they're staying in the top 5 and getting a 1 seed.

We should’ve beat a 9-6, 0-2 team in conference. I just don’t see us winning the next 9 games and to be honest I don’t even know who the next 9 opponents are except tonight is Mississippi State. Just not a fan of Cal’s and wish the guy would move on to be honest. I still live and breath UK but Cal has drained me down. It’s just with all the non sense BS he’s brought into the program and with all the talent he’s had he’s only got 1 Championship to show for it!

Thanks for reminding everyone.
