I was looking at the schedule today. It’s certainly a possibility. The next nine are definitely winnable.
H squared has been replaced by K squared.
I would wait for the nine wins and then say that we are on a nine game winning streak
6 of the next 9 at home but we'll get tripped up somewhere. We seem to have rare clunkers where someone on the team will miss 10+ shots and fail to recognize it's not their night. Also our defense has been a liability all year. Good news is there's a long way until March
Be cool if we did but I’d never guarantee a 9 game win steak under a Calipari coached team anymore
They're winnable but with Cal there's no such thing as a guaranteed win.
Yeah and even without a cold shooting night, if we’re not playing any defense or gonna block guys out, we’re in for more losses

Gonna be tough to win back-to-back games @USC and @Arkansas. We're much better than both teams and Arkansas is a train wreck (even though they're talented), but those are tough places to win on the road especially back-to-back. Winning the next 5 going into the UT game would make that game a great opportunity to solidify a 2 seed (barring a collapse). Can't go worse than 4-1.
MSU on Wednesday is a sneaky game too. They're much improved and are an extremely physical team that we may struggle to guard inside and rebound. Hopefully Adou is back soon

Teams shoot 31% against us in Rupp. I don't know what the road percentage is but A&M shot 40% Saturday.
Rebounding is more of a problem but help is on the way.
I’d take 8-1 in a heartbeat over the next 9 games. Go 9-0 over the next month the AP voters might have to make room for us in the top 5. 8-1 might do it too though but still definitely top 10.
Let’s get past Miss St first. As last week should’ve thought us there are no gimmes in college ball this year. Not in conference play. Miss St beat the snot out of UT. UT isn’t a slouch. Neither is MSt.

At South Carolina is never easy. Cal will get thrown out.
If you watched that game it was never in doubt they were down by double digits. UT was never in consideration to win.
Why do you all do this to yourselves? Haven’t you learned anything the last 8 years? We have a coach who gets a million dollars a year per loss.

UT coming to Rupp will be a war. That's the next game on the schedule that worries me. I do think we're the better basketball team. I think we get a fair whistle at home and find a way to win.
Vandy is bad. We shouldn't have an issue there. Potential for a let down game coming off a huge game vs UT. But they're losing to little sisters of the poor.
Gonzaga is way down this year. We owe them 1 after last year. They're still a big time program and our guys will be ready for that one. We get it done in Rupp.
Ole Miss has a good record. They haven't beaten anybody. UT beat the crap out of them. Another win at home.

But I also think our guys will improve a lot between now and February 17th. We've got ~a month to improve the defense and rebounding. And as I've said in other threads, they don't have to be great. They just have to be better.

If we win the next 4 I could definitely see us winning out until the Auburn game though. We tend to play Tennessee very well at home in the games when both teams are highly ranked

Not sure your point. My point is another poster would often look at schedule and predict long win streaks. You did that here. He hasn't been around so wasn't expecting these types of threads. You didn't do it with the bragging like he would have. Congrats on a quarter century here.

No denying we peed down our pants vs UNC-W.
But we were supposed to lose to Kansas. We were supposed to lose to A&M. We were the underdog in both games.
I have been here since the inception of the old board to this one and the kids often tell me I am not a fan. I was born in Weeksbury of Floyd County. They don’t even know where that is.
I mean, I appreciate the UK mindset of we want to win every game.
But if you asked Las Vegas--we were underdogs. ESPN's little prediction model had us projected to lose those games.
People act like "We're Kentucky, it's never acceptable to lose." Duke loses. Kansas loses. UNC loses. I honestly think we have as talented of a team as any in the nation. But I also think there is so much parity in college hoops, that no team is going undefeated any time soon.
