Matt Jones on KSR this morning said that Tennessee players were coming up to some of our players Saturday night telling them to come to Tennessee.

You think if we're not paying these kids are going to stay if someone else is?? If we the fans don't get our act together we are going to lose on signing day (we're already seeing it) watch and see...

I really do not like Matt Jones at all and I believe about 99% of what he says is not true but his opinion on NIL is correct. If the UK Administration does not start rapidly and heavily improving the UK NIL situation it will certainly have an almost immediate impact. Coaches, players and recruits will drift towards schools with better and healthy NIL deals. It will start this offseason and only get worse. Change is almost always inevitable.

I’ll wait to hear it from the players and see what happens. Jones is not a reliable source.

however, we will never compete with schools like ut in football NIL money. And there football money will help there basketball NiL And make them competetive with us on the court.
sad times we live in But if theres no cap then in all honesty “college” athletics are dead As we know them. We’re just watching a knock off pro league

Again, why would anyone give up their hard earned money to never win anything that matters?

What assurances do we have that we will outbid alabama, tn, auburn, lsu, Florida, uga, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas a and m if we start throwing away money for our semi pro football league the ncaa has become?

I know the classic response is if we don't try we definitely won't win anything but ill leave it to the Richie riches to spend their money on this. Same goes with basketball or baseball, etc. Not the common fans responsibility. Bash away.

If you think our guys don't get NIL deals your clueless. Also what is stopping you from giving to q collective. Help me understand.

God forbid the players actually get some of the value they create and not just what amounts to an “unpaid internship”.

You don’t like where Kentucky is at with NIL? That’s not the average fans fault. It’s the fact that Kentucky doesn’t have the Uber donor resources at their disposal that are passionate about football like an Alabama or a UT. Hell, Michigan State has better donor resources for football than we have.

Basketball has no NIL problems. That should be telling. The only thing stopping Oscar from crushing the nation in NIL is his visa status.

So how do we solve this problem? I don’t have all the answers but I do have the facts. And something has to give.

Apparently Cats Illustrated posters aren't allowed to give to a collective or pay players NIL because.... Mitch Barnhart won't let them. Did Mitch call yall or write you a letter. How did it go down?

You can’t solve the problem. Big schools will get there’s and others won’t. You either break away from those schools and do your own thing or watch schools like tn and bama absolutely destroy us in money and recruiting every year.

simply put, there is no solution. And to be honest it will make a school like UK unable to ever compete. It is what it is

Individuals can apply to contribute. See link above and below.

(last time I spam I promise)

The liquor and the horse industry should be propping us up. Case closed

The bourbon industry is owned now by Japanese conglomerates.

The horse people give two shit about college about college sports. At least the ones with real money to make a difference.

If UK would have one great organized NIL I think the fans would give in droves, Mitch doesn’t want that….. it really is a joke. UK a will react way too late. MItch will cost UK football again, with his indecisiveness

$5 here and there from the random fans isn't even a drop in the bucket. The money needs to come from big donors. The school can absolutely approach and recruit those donors they just can't actively solicit or coordinate a deal for a particular player

In modern day major college sports, an ad will need to raise funds for both the school and recruit nil partners.

All this attempted finger pointing at UK fans is ridiculous and more proof Barnhardt needs to go

Mitch doesn't want that based on what? Whats stopping you from starting a collective, giving to a collective or giving a player money through NIL?
You just worry about thinking up new usernames.
Ready to tell us all your connection to Barnfart and/or the athletic dept?

Thanks for playing. We have some parting gifts for you.

Matt is a very good source for this topic. . I will almost guarantee that it’s Vince telling him to put this out. They’re very close friends

Big money at UK is held for bb players that don't even play.

Don’t you put that evil on me Ricky Bobby. That’s not a fan issue it’s Mitch Barnhart issue we are behind on everything NIL related. He needs to promote it and put together more revenue streams
Kentuckians would be better off tithing to their local churches than giving hand outs to athletes that are already getting an all expenses paid education.
Stay true to Jesus Kentucky.
Most of the money needs to come from boosters but if no money comes in the football team will fall way behind

The schools you mentioned we don't have a prayer against in fb. Just guessing, but I'd say that each one of those schools each "several" billionaires or corporations to support them. Other than the Crafts, who does UK have? They can't even compete with u6 in this. They already have locked down the big corporations in Louisville and rich alumni.

I submitted my application on UK's NIL site. I'm just an individual potential donor and don't have a business of my own. Below is what I wrote as the narrative when they ask what type of support you'd be interested in giving.

"I'm an individual fan/potential donor who'd be interested in donating a monthly amount to assist with attracting the best athletes to ensure that UK fields the most competitive teams as possible. I think it'd be great if UK were to make such an option available to the common fan (both on a recurring/monthly basis and as a one-time deal). The athletics department needs to view this in a holistic manner; a dollar donated to an NIL fund is not a dollar taken away from other types of athletic donations. Moreover, if the university fails to attract the best athletes with attractive NIL deals, then the value of UK's athletic programs suffers overall. UK will field less competitive teams, which are not as marketable and attractive to media. UK needs to be proactive and on the cutting edge of the NIL situation, rather than reactive and playing catch-up, which is a recipe for failure."

Have you received a response?

While Mitch was buttoning that top collar, others were out securing their program's future. Embarrassing

I hate to be a jerk but posts like this are truly ridiculous. I am a fan, it’s not my responsibility to worry about an NIL to keep players at a school. Nothing wrong with helping if you can, but acting like it’s the fans responsibility to keep players at a school and to fund an NIL is laughable

Mad because I called out your lies. There's q reason none of you can answer a single question about your claims, its because you're lying frauds.

Oh, and I don't have a connection to Barnhart, it's just one if yalls lame message board tactics. If you don't fall in line eith your moronic talking points, you're "Mrs Barnhart".

A parting gift would be telling the truth. We both know you're incapable of that.

it’s going to be a rough ride in the new era for UK sports. Immediate transfer and NIL is unlikely to be kind to the program since Uk doesn’t have loaded boosters like other programs. May just become an NFL only guy, at least there is a salary cap in the pros

According to this board, UK does loaded boosters, Mitch Barnhart just won't let them do NIL deals. Surely they aren't lying.
