Kentucky Basketball Practice Thread

This is basically a 2 hour recruiting video. I bet the bird brains are not the only fans that have chapped asses right now.

OP is smoking if he thinks that the SEC will be a cake walk for UK. Vandy will be tough, LSwho is talented (althought their coach will hold them back), A&M is improved, Missouri will be better and Flaorida still has good players even though they are going into a new coaching staff.

Lee still looks very tentative out there. Concerning since he is expected to play a major role as a junior.

Extremely excited to think we've got Humphries locked in for 2 years minimum. This guy is going to be special once we get him in the strength & conditioning program. Love that Cal is going international. I think Tai Wynyard is going to be special as well.

I just got up so I haven't seen much. Can someone fill me in on the numbers the new guys are wearing please

I see skal
Murray
Briscoe
Humphries
Poy
Lee
Ulis
What numbers are guys like Matthews and mulder

I work 3rd shift so I missed the beginning TIA

I'm glad the shorts are starting to get a little shorter. I'm pretty sure they will never return to the obscene shorts of the past, but the current ones look better than the Capri pant era that we had been in.

CONCERN: In the interview with Poythress he said that he did not participate in the lateral quickness drill because "there was no reason to". How about to show you have the returned to near the same quickness as last year. I am afraid we are going to see a Poythress that is only 75-80%of his former self. I certainly hope I am wrong.

POSITIVE: Murray is a beast. He is do game ready it is ridiculous. If not for Ulis, I think Murray would step into the clear leader of this team. I think we will see a lot of play with 3 point guards. Ulis will probably push it up the court but then Ulis, Briscoe, and Murray will all swing it around and attack. I am very impressed with Murray.

I'm still kind of confused about all that. I know he played for reach your dream prep which wasn't a school but didn't he play against high school teams?

He didn't get to play much organized ball last year because RYD was limited schedule. Played in a lot of mini tourney type games. What people are forgetting is skal sat out a year before with a back injury. So it's been a while since he has had real coaches and game speed

Good call on the back injury W2R.

However, has played a lot of basketball outside of the high school season. He has trained with and played against the best competition in the United States and the world at his age level.

I think he will be fine. His offensive game far exceeds AD's at this point. Does he have the other intangibles?

Have you ever had a knee injury or similar before? The mental process is an equal challenge in the recovery process..so that may be where he is, which in time he will get through

Matthews was 4. Mulder was 11

Maybe it's just me. Humphries looks very interesting. He midrange shooting looks VERY reliable. I would say he's one of the best shooters on the team. He might not be able to extend it out as far as Murray or Ulis, but he looks really good shooting it.

ulis and murray are going to have to carry this team early. but later in the year...uk is going to be a monster

Agree, only Ulis and Murray (and some of Briscoe) are ready to play tomorrow. The bigs have a long way to go. Lots of upside.

Most intrigued by Humphries. A surprise there.
Most concerned with Lee. Just a practice, but looks about the same as last couple of years.

btw, EJ had the best dunk and then came back and blocked Skal from behind. hahaha PLAYER OF THE PRACTICE!

Alex has either gotten thicker with age or he's got a ways to go to be in playing shape.
Even better than the 4 Final Fours and 1 Title he has led UK to in the last 5 yrs. Jerry?
This guy can't be serious.
I'm dissapointed in the BBN, how has he managed to leave his house and leave his office withought having a bag placed over his head, getting dragged into the woods and getting lambasted.
Okay, maybe a little over the top but this guy has it out for a coach that has done nothing but great things for UK.

Note: I don't know why this ended up quoting what it did but I tried twice to quote the Jerry Tipton tweet post.

Uhh acl injuries are no joke.its been barely 10 months, maybe not even for Alex. New year's will be the real test if he is there.
