Kentucky at Vandy (Finale)

Right now we are tied for ninth with tam and I think we hold the tiebreaker. Actually we are that should put us in the nine-hole which would make us facing Florida if we win... Am I correct? Maybe Mississippi State softens Florida up for us:joy::scream:[banana]:boxing::sunglasses:

Nope. We are the 10 seed. Missouri is 12. Texas A&M is 11. We are 10.

We would play Ole Miss if we beat Auburn in the first game.

Who is Kentucky going to throw Tuesday?

I think they throw Hjelle. He's not been overly sharp lately, but the game is an important one and he has a history of rising to the top in big situations. Not to mention, he is our only entirely healthy starter.

Interesting. Auburn is throwing our Tuesday starter, Jack Owen. I’m guessing Hjelle threw Thursday?

He did. Kentucky is hurting right now. Lewis, who is our Sunday starter is injured and has been out two weeks and likely won't pitch in the SEC tournament. Thompson is our Saturday guy and he just returned from an arm injury that left him out almost the entire sec schedule. He is likely still ona pitch count, but almost fully back. Haake, who started some Saturdays, but is likely a better bullpen guy, has also suffered an arm injury and is likely unavailable. Coleman is a top reliever that has an arm injury as well. Possibly most importantly, Machamer, our closer and best bullpen arm, suffered a back injury this past week and wasn't available this weekend.

So, we have little to nothing left. Harper has started some, but he's not a very reliable freshman. Schaenzer is a senior lefty with some starts, but he's definitely shaky. Ramsey started yesterday and did okay, but I doubt that they pitch him on that short rest.

Needing to get back on track, I imagine Hjelle is the best bet.

You don't think J Lew is ready now after 2 and 1/2 weeks off, that seems like quite a bit of healing time.

I personally have no idea. However, Headrick said tonight that he probably wouldn't be available until the regional unless we made a deep SEC tournament run.

Dang. I didn’t realize y’all had so many staff injuries since we played y’all. Lewis was really good against us.

We also have an injured TJ Collett, who has 10 home runs. He was our DH and we have suffered a lot offensively since his injury. He is likely done for the year with a hip problem.
