I don’t know if I want him back with us. He is tainted now, even more then when he was a player.

Yeah I like KP, but I'm starting to have some serious doubts about his coaching abilities.
Kenny is too soft. I said it last year - l know someone who was a consultant for the basketball program and he told me the coaches hardly pointed out mistakes, let dudes just do their own thing in practice a lot of the time, etc.
I think this same thing. If he's THIS bad being a head coach, theres no way he's a great assistant coach.

I can't blame Kenny for going back to his alma mater. Its not like he went to a rival he had no ties to. With that said, I hope UL loses 30 games and he has to go somewhere else.
I would still take Kenny back.Some guys seem to be good assistants and not for the pressure of the head guy.
That’s ridiculous, this is big time athletics. Even practices should be taped and dissected on film sometimes.
I know people assume you're just a Cal hater, but this is just a fact. Barbee, Pastner, Antigua, Payne. All were/are below average head coaches.
Kenny was that dude here, perfect fit for what he did. I’d take him back. Trade Bruiser for him.

You knew he was going to be a terrible head coach. He’s a real good assistant working individually with players, helping them grow mentally, being on their side when Cal has them down and his good natured personality helps reel in recruits.
Did a bit of schadenfreude on one of the UL boards. One poster suggested Bob Huggins as an interim coach.
Yes they were. Still think Payne is great for player relations. All the guys sing his praises so he has to be liked in that role.

Huh? His coaching tree is terrible. Arguably the best coach of all time has a bad coaching tree. So how does his comment make any sense? He’s hinting that Cal sucks because his coaching tree sucks. So I guess that means Belicheck sucks too by his own definition. Derp.
That's because, in general, Cal does with coaches what he does with players - with few exceptions, he manages, rather than develops them.
