Not sure about guards. You need studs on the perimeter, defensively and offensively, and that includes guards and forwards.because to beat the Warriors you need guards, not big men.
The Celtics next year are highly likely to be rolling out a lineup of Horford, Tatum, Brown, Hayward, and Irving. That's a bigger PG, a really good defensive anchor in the middle, and 3 + athletes in the 6'7" to 6'9" range. They're clearly building like that with the Warriors in mind, and it will be really interesting to see how they match-up with GS.
Houston was clearly thinking along the same lines. Yeah, Chris Paul, but the more interesting strategic choice was to stockpile wings- Ariza, Tucker, Mbah a Moute, Gerald Green, Joe Johnson. Results so far are clearly mixed, and the appear to have no answer at all for Durant. The Celtics, though, are younger and more athletic.
