Just curious what everyone thought prior to tonight's game if we had a shot at knocking the Jayhawks down.

They lead Baylor right now by 15 in the 1st half for #31.

I'll always feel like we can beat Kansas. The Cats just have to play with a lot of energy, shoot the ball well, and defend.

No. If you just expect/predict losses at LSU, at KU, at A&M and at Vandy like I am...will save you a lot of anger and grief on those gamedays. Now could we steal one or even two of the games above? Yes, sure, but it won't be at KU IMO.

I guarantee you this one has been circled by the Kansas players for a long time after what we did to them last year. Rest assured this game really will be their "Super Bowl".

I know teams get up for UK but the "we are everybody's Super Bowl " crap sounds silly and is overused. Sure teams get up for us, but they do for Kansas, Duke, UNC and many other teams as well. That is the price you pay for being an elite program.

Everyone has a shot. But I think a win there this year is unlikely. We would have to shoot very well, and they would need to have an off night.

We'd have to hit anywhere from 12-15 threes; at least 75% from the FT line and stay out of foul trouble, which won't happen at Lawrence. We would also have to own the glass which will be very tough to do. I have a feeling that KU will shoot around 30-35 Ft's against us there.

Not going to be easy to win there. If we can get something out of Skal and hit a decent percentage from 3 then we have a shot.

I ran into a female Kansas fan in Tally today that grew up a stones throw from Lawerence.
Just a chance happening in a Target parking lot.
We are screwed fellas.

We won't win there this year because we are just not that good. Kansas is just a better team this year than we are. And when Cal said " we are everybody's super bowl" he is correct.

KU may beat us but they dont have any physical advantages on us at all, experience and shooting is what they have, dominating athletes they do not.

Kentucky would have to play much better than they have so far..Good news is they are capable of much better..That game is a ways away still so we should be much improved...ask me to pick a winner on gameday..

I think we match up quite well, and it could be a huge 'redo' from how we handled the UCLA visit.

If we win, its bonus chips for our RPI.

This is nearly verbatim as to what I was going to respond.
Obviously, I agree with this.

Baylor played a dumb game today. Why would you zone one of the hottest shooting teams in the country? Once they got shot out of the gym early, they were forced to run with Kansas. Can't win against that kind of talent. Not sure about Scott Drew as a head coach.

Kentucky is a big game, but Super Bowl? Not sure about that. OU on Monday, Iowa State at Hilton, OU back in Norman, WVU there, are all bigger games and more of a challenge. Don't get me wrong I will be watching on Jan-31 but let's keep things In perspective.

Hope I'm wrong, but I don't see us winning there. Crowd will be crazy and their inside game is light years ahead of us. I'll be happy to eat my words.

Exactly. A meaningless OOC game. Both teams have conference games that matter much more.

Nobody has scored 80 against Baylor in 60 games or 100 since 2008. It's tough to win any time a team shoots like that.

No, I already have that game along with at Vandy, at LSU, at A&M, and at Florida as losses. UK can steal one of the SEC ones potentially. Also no shame in losing at Kansas since they are nearly impossible to beat there like uk is nearly impossible to beat in Rupp. That game will help with SOS and RPI if thats a silver lining.

Well, I am not sure I would use the word 'meaningless'....

Just not going to learn much from the game...if it was on a neutral court I'd care some. No way UK wins at KU. No way KU wins next year if you return to Rupp. Just how it is. Two teams that dominate at home.

I was thinking it might be more meaningful for UK to get back into the top 10...
Not really. Cal just wants to see some fight and building towards March. It's not like we have a blow out to avenge from last year or anything like that.

A one-point victory will be good enough on Jan-31st...you guys could almost call that a 'moral victory'

I agree Kansas is a better team and UK is highly unlikely to win there this season but I disagree on the uk not being good comment. UK is good, not elite, but good and there don't seem to be any elite teams this year. We have a chance against them in the tourney.
