Kansas currently with 30 game home winning streak...do we have a shot?

Let's see....56% shooting by Selden, 55 from 3. 48% and 45 for Mason and Graham (A-T ratios of 6-1 and 4-1). Greene 63%, 62 from 3.

And then there's Svi, considered by many the best pro prospect on the team.

Lots o' mediocrity there. Yep. We'll see whose guards look mediocre on Jan 30.

Again, ONE person said that. But there is not a big enough laughing emoji for the idea that Svi is your best pro prospect. Just about 1 and third seasons in and he's not exactly living up to that claim is he?

I didn't say that I agree with it, but that's a common belief.

Regardless, he's a pretty solid player who will likely get better and better. He's only 18.

Good Lord, are these Kansas fans or Louisville fans in this thread? I can't tell with their constant insistence on seeking approval from big bro. Seriously, start acting like the Blue Blood you are instead of like Missouri fans.

I don't really know anything about KU's players except Perry Ellis, and that's just because my Grandpa used to tell me stories about when he and his brother used to sit around the radio and listen to games of him in the 50s.

I don't. The Helms and any mythical National Championship (Coach's Poll, AP, UPI) are never better than a tournament. A 68-team tournament is better than a 8-team tournament. My point is that how much better is an 8-Team Tournament than a mythical championship? A step or two maybe but not heads and tails. The modern tournament started in 1984 when it expanded to 64+ teams.

But I could make a case that the best team in 1953-54 wasn't LaSalle, the NCAA Tournament winner but it was Kentucky, the 1953-54 Helms Champions who didn't go to the Tournament. And, I know that you know that those decisions were not made by 'marketing guy' but a committee of sports executives and sports media.
1. It's infinitely better. It was won and earned. Those eight teams had to get there first by separating themselves from the competition (not by any perfect method, but they did) and then one had to stand above the rest.

The other thing you're taking about is literally like being featured on a box of wheaties. It's nice, but if you put it on your wikipedia sidebar or prominently in your rafters, you look like an idiot.

2. Teams besides the best one win frequently, even today. Last year, 2014, 2011, 2010.. That's 4 of the last 6 years. Do we stop handing out the title altogether, then? No. At least it was earned. Unlike the floating wheaties boxes that ku and UK have but only ku displays like a championship.

Selden, Ellis, and Mason have all likely reached the apex of their college production. Meaning you can't really expect a higher output. Murray (who should be a high school senior) just played his 12th collegiate game. :boxing:
Why should murray be a high school senior?

Don't know how the Canadian HS system works and if it's significantly different than ours, but before he reclassified, he was planning on planning another year in HS. I think he is the same age as a normal first year player though.

To be honest about it I don't think we shoot free throws good enough to beat a Top 10 team on the road. You have to drill them to have a shot on the road because chances are you will not get that many and missing the front end of a one and one means you lose.

Also, the problem is that Briscoe cannot be trusted to make them, so if it is a close game, he can't be in. Basically, it will have to be one of those games where we are just on from the line. Can't explain it, but there are games where we shoot way over our average, and then there are games where Murray misses 3 or 4, and Ulis misses some. I just hope it's close enough for that to be a factor.

I didn't know they had a different system, but Murray almost 19 as a freshman which should be about par for the course. We have a sophomore that will finish the season at 18 years old. Sometimes you hear announcers raving about these elite freshman and they are almost 20 years old---kinda pisses me off.

Kansas fans.

We understand we own your program. We understand you desperately want to win a game against us, it's been a while. We understand you've kept enough players back to have a shot this year.

We know. We know. We know.

You're supposed to be a GD blue blood. Stop seeking our approval and act like it. You're embarrassing yourselves and the collective NCAA body.

I say we win this game close. Take the UCLA loss for example. Forget what UCLA did before and after our game. The only thing that mattered was how they played that night. We were missing one key player and one was not at 100%. We had 2 guys foul out and two in foul trouble. We lost by 10 points and only being outscored by 2 in the second half.

I think it'll be close and depend on if we make shots.

This team has issues getting up for games. They showed up to play for Duke. I would imagine that playing Kansas is going to get them up for this one.

UCLA and Ohio State however, didn't motivate them.

It was nice to see us come out so aggressively on defense in the last game. I actually think the offense has shown nice signs of improvement over the last few games.Pair it all together, and I think we'll be in a close one late.

For your own sake, I wouldn't.

Goodman on ESPN shockingly telling us the 2 best gyms are AFH and Cameron....and also said Self was 197-9 at AFH since he arrived. Sounds like their ESPN talking head.

In other words, he feasted on Tubby a few times after the 98 title year. Unfortunately, I think he evens up his record this year. It will take a tremendous game on our part to get a win there.

I'm sorry, is Kentucky the coach or the program? In other words, is the coach above the program?

I have played 84 college games. In those 84 games I have scored at or over my current average 23 times. 10 of those this year. Before this year I was a career 35% shooter from 3. Before this year I was a career 41% shooter. I haven't accomplished anything that stands out in the prior two years. Who am I.(ws)

Is he maybe on his way to stardom? Could be. So far, his career has been mediocre, but hey, it's your player and your right to see him as something he hasn't been.

No program is more above the coach than Kentucky is, since we have 5 different coaches with championships here and no other program has more than 3.

But that doesn't mean that we can't have relatively weaker coaches.

Interesting that Kansas fans conveniently use Ted Owens as an excuse to why UK has owned them, but UK fans can't say a word about Tubby.
