Justin Edwards: “I was the best player in the draft.”

I would look at high school/aau footage of our incoming players and make predictions. The ones I was most dead wrong on were: When I saw Boston/Jackson and that point guard practicing together in Cali I said they looked like dogs (they were puppies) and I said that Edwards played physical like Poythrress. (Looked like Tarzan, played like Jane)

People that are 'experts' and put their reputations on the line to provide for their families said that at least 58 players were better or had more potential to be better. He has the confidence to say it, but does he have the drive to prove it. I wish him all the luck.
Bronny gives you a quiet thank you.

But his combined PER was almost the highest on the team? Our eyes were lying to us all year! These thtatithtistics don’t make thense!

I know some have a hard time rooting for Edwards but something I liked about him was that he was always positive with himself and with teammates. I think he can be a glue guy in the NBA.
I must admit, if he played all year like he did in the Tennessee game he'd be one of my favorite players ever.

Yes he did have a great game, but it's difficult to not smile when you've essentially been given a starting spot you didn't deserve.

Well obviously you have to have confidence... You're not gonna say I sucked I'm lucky to be here especially in a interview.
That's kind of a false choice. He could have said "Look, it's a process and I'm working my ass off. I'm disappointed but I'll get there."

Thank God most of us never had his platform. I imagine most of us have said something just as dumb in public at 20 years old.
Not me. I was on the front page of the LHL sports page at 18 and talked about my teammates, team goals, winning games.

Hold on. Maybe Edwards was right, we don’t know.
Which sport do we think he was talking about because we know it wasn’t basketball!
Maybe he’s a really good cornhole player?

Confidence is necessary. Delusion kills careers. I liked Edwards at UK in how he handled things. This is being "coached" to be told to others--because Klutch is burying clients--look at Lively/Nick Smith Jr last yr, Livingston if you want to go that far, now Edwards is another in long line of chaos with how their clients are managed.

All that needs to be said is "I'm out to prove that I can play in the league and am looking forward to taking advantage of the opportunity provided." If he wanted to add "I'm confident that I'll prove that I am the player many expected of me coming out of HS"--fine. But the delusional "positive speak" is as toxic as someone who is always negative. Lying is lying. You don't get better or help someone because you say the sky is made of rainbows. You tell them how they can achieve and it's 100% through work ethic/investment of time. Take last night's game with Wolves--Edwards was guarded by Dillingham on a switch and Rob just jumped his left hand and made him go right and Edwards had to pass the ball because he's still not developed enough to go right. That's how anyone improves in any field. If you think not lifting weights and eating candy is how to be best in line to compete--good luck.
