It has been nice playing in games that haven't been dictated by officiating. Now we get this-the NCAA is so obvious it's pathetic.

Higgins is awful. He did that game a couple years ago at Kansas where we got screwed.
John Higgins is one of the worst of the Kentucky HATING refs out there and responsible for a 42% win percentage while he is officiating,UK is 3 - 4 under him

Higgins officiated the Wisconsin loss in the Final Four and the loss to UCLA earlier this season

Apparently not. I could have sworn I remember him on that crew. Oh well. We do have a losing record with him though, and he did the UConn game in 2011, and the Wisconsin game in 2015. So, you know he's garbage.
It was especially bad because he was looking down to see if Napier was out of bounds, Napier flopped and fell, and Higgins called the foul without even looking up. No way he could have seen contact if there was any, which there wasn't.
You're right. In 2016, Higgins wasn't, but Sirmons, Adams and Whitehead were....what a crew! Remember that bogus T on Isaiah (for interaction with a player who hit him?). Cost us that game....uggh!
Lost the last two Kimble games, and 3 of the last 4 Higgins games. Ugh.
It's a fact. Hopefully he comes down with explosive diarrhea tomorrow morning.
Maybe but a bigger factor IMO is he's been a lot more subdued since his accident, and that's actually made him a better ref than he was in the five or so years before the accident.

Had we (rightfully) won that game, we may not have lost to UT, and we would not have been seeded where we were last year and met IU in the 2nd Round of the tournament.
A "little" call here and there makes a big difference. And the impact of that loss was felt until our final game last year.
Ya i can accept a loss to a team that plays better but they fought to win that game and Kansas was just handed it. Not to say that it made a difference in the big picture because we definitely didn't have a complete team last year but that would have been a great win.

I'm so hoping they're wrong. We've only won 1 post-season game (Cornell) in the last 11 years with him on the whistle. But the losses, which were heartbreakers, were all controversial. Who can forget Michigan State 2005, UConn 2011 . . . Wisconsin 2015? Not. Over. It.

So 4 games into the NCAAT, and in half of those games UK has somehow managed to "draw" the two refs out of the entire referee field that the Cats have a horrible track record with. That ain't coincidence - that's called a "stacked deck". The NCAA has seen that their plan to give us the most difficult path hasn't quite panned out (in fact, we're looking better than I think they hoped), so why not throw in their very own "X-factor" - sh*tbag refs that have historically had it out for Kentucky and Calipari.
Thankfully, the other two refs seem to be palatable. Hopefully they cancel out Higgins and any agenda he might be planning on bringing in to today's game.

He called 25 fouls on Candy and only 14 on us. Wow, how did we ever win with such blatant bias against us?

Yeah, I'm sure ONE ref called 39 fouls. Do you ever stop being a contrarian?
My concern is Higgins calling those head fakes travels, which have not really been called on us in the post-season.
The mood there was electric. His actions allowed momentum shifts early on that could have cost us the game.
