That is a great attitude, but if we fail to meet expectations with our bench, depth and shooting. Are you going to accept that it was just because we were young and inexperienced and that we had opportunities to pursue better players earlier in the portal but chose not to pursue anyone.
No, the coach is responsible for constructing the team. If it doesn’t meet expectations, it’s on him. I’m 51 and we’ve won it all 4 times in my lifetime and that is better than most. There’s going to be years in which we aren’t as good as others. I don’t like the one and done system and I wish it would change. It was fine in the beginning of the Cal era because it helped get us back to the top quickly but it’s lost it’s luster. Again, if this team doesn’t succeed, it’s on Cal because all of the resources are there.
