Braylon Mullins news

Sisk said it could be during his fall break. Regardless, I don't expect him to be at UK, personally.
I think most fall breaks in Indiana are the first or second week of October. Ours is the second week. I want Kentucky kids at UK and Indiana kids at IU. If this rivalry is coming back it will only make it better. Oh and the final 4 is in Indy in 2026.😉

There was a time when the tobacco and Coal industries would have been massive in the nil game . But they are skeletons of what they once were . The Crafts are big time but back in the day coal and tobacco companies would have been lining up to contribute.

and that is the problem, 2 of Kentucky's oldest and most loyal fan base have lost their livelihood. In days past, they would have probably
contributed plenty of $ toward NIOL, but can no longer do so
Tobacco is still strong. We need Marlboro donating NIL!

I would agree it is a long shot. I am sure Indiana and UConn are in his ear to go ahead and cancel his Ky visit.

Hoping we can get him on campus. I am sure Malachi would join him, if he could and the staff thought it would help. They seem to be good friends and Braylon was the first person Malachi mentioned after he committed. I think he understands how much better his game is when you are playing with a dead eye shooter.

Very good player, prospect, and fit in Pope’s system.

But barring Jasper committing to play PG it just didn’t make sense to Braylon imo. When you have as good of options as he does, why would you go somewhere with such a crowded wing room?

No surprise we seem to be trending for the kid(Acaden) at a position we’re losing two super seniors guaranteed and out on the kid(Braylon) at the position that’s seemingly much more crowded.

Not sure we are heavily recruiting any wings now other than Ament. New Rivals ratings, Ament is up to #4, Wilson #5, Johnson # 18, Lewis #20, Moreno #27.

all his options he will have competition
IU just got a wing commitment & may be getting another
At UK he could play the 2 or the 3 & get plenty of shots

Sisely is a 3/4 and haralson is a multiple spot guy. They can and have existed together.

You’re right that Mullins will have to face competition wherever he goes, especially if he wants to play for a title contending type team. And if he were afraid of competition and expected to be handed a starting spot that would raise concerns about his value anyway, wouldn’t it?

Giving Mullins the benefit of the doubt, I’m guessing the issue Mullins might have regarding Johnson is he doesn’t want to be in a situation where there are two freshmen both vying for the same playing time against multiple upperclassmen. UK will likely have a minimum of Oweh, Noah, Chandler, Perry, and Johnson at the 1-3 positions. If UK chose not to add any other Guards for 2025-26 – which I think very unlikely – then it would seem that Perry and Johnson would have to man the PG spot. In that case, Mullins probably likes how he fits at the 2 & 3 for UK. But if UK adds a freshman PG and even another portal PG, then I can see where Mullins starts thinking it’s too crowded.
