Zion Barrett quickley and a big man. Let's get it done
Dude Meyer changes his pick like he is changing his clothes. I'm sure Johnson probably recently visited Texas. If we get him here for an official we can get him. I think him an Barrett are mutually exclusive. Can play both at the 2/3
Zion wants to play the 3; every serious contender for him is playing that game. The only way we get Barrett and Zion is to convince RJ he is the 2 guard and Zion is the 3. Which leaves Johnson on the sideline, so to speak

Both Zion and Barrett want to have the ball in their hands and get their shots. Don't see them going to the same school.
Cal's never recruited multiple high level scorers in the same class. I hadn't realized this before but now it makes sense.

I don't think I would read anything into Johnson meaning anything at all about Barrett. I think all it really means is that Jerry Meyer & other analysts had a knee-jerk reaction 2 Cal offering Johnson on visit.
That would be an incredible class, especially awesome considering I think we get a few guys back.
That being said , a couple "UK fans" would still be upset and find a reason to complain about how we're not living up to Duke/ Coach K standards. They'd take their... gloves*... off and have probably 77 reasons as to why it wasn't a "Duke/K caliber " class ...

I mean what if we get a slew of returning players and only get a few in this class? Then so what?
Say we return Shai GA, Green, Baker, Vando, SKJ, Richards and Wynyard and get Quickley, Barrett or Zion, and Shittu.

Looks like a hell of a squad to me. Cal rolling with two PGs starting like he loves. A dominant wing in either Barrett or Zion. A great rebounding frontcourt featuring two tough and fast developing players. A guard off the bench that can play the 1-2. A wing off the bench who can play the 3-4. A junior backup Center. Looks like a perfect 8 man rotation. Then a zone buster in Baker and a somewhat experienced Wynyard who can give you spot minutes or a few more minutes due to a foul trouble emergency.

I really cannot imagine why we would expect to have a slew of returning players. Our really good players don't typically come back unless they are injured, locked out, undersized, or heartbroken from losing the national championship game.
Make no mistake, Kentucky will need to replace five starters and at least a sixth man before next season. We need a good and big class.
Would be a fantastic class. I just hope these recruits and their families look at Cal as a role model and base it off of his actions. Calipari is that parent that is truly a role model for their children. He raises over a million for Harvey victims, he helps players get drafted, he doesn't hold them back, holds them to a higher standard, builds their character etc. You just hope parents of these recruits notice this and make the right decision both financially and morally.
Of course other schools (like UL) have a coach that is a terrible role model for his kids. Almost like that parent that sits around all day smoking weed and playing video games. You feel sorry for that guy's kids. Imagine the example that sets. Hell the kids are probably more mature than the adult. Then you have UNC basically saying it's ok to not go to class. Just hope the parents of these recruits step in and make the right decision for their children.
No one would be upset with 2 of the top 3 players in the '18 class signing with UK.
That's happened 2x before with Cal, and everyone was extremely excited.
He's not as big as Randle though. Don't know if he could play down low like that. He's more of a 3 IMO.
It's supposed to be ever changing. That's what the crystal ball is. It's not a final prediction, it's a gauge of what's going on in the recruiting at the moment.
I think the fact that Cal has offered so few players in this class says otherwise. JMO
Either that or he feels really good about 4+ guys he is after. I agree it could be either one. Based on Cal's history, I'm betting the latter.
Then there's the fact that so many of these top players are planning Fall decisions.
There's no way we return a "slew" of guys. It's year 8 of the Cal era and we've only done that 2 times (if you count the 2 key returns of 2011). Much more likely we only return a "few" guys.
Vicious cycle of the good ones leaving for the NBA, one or two not so good ones also leaving to try to get in the NBA, and not good ones transferring.
I see your point but I don't think we are going to have a 6 man class for next year. I just don't see us losing 6-7 players from this team. I could be wrong and if so it means we are going to have a really good year but I personally don't think we will sign more than 4 players.

So did I but someone else's opinion on Barrett! Time will tell. Every post from other sites today Barrett said his UK visit was Okay.
He's not as tall but he's thicker and he's a human flash driving to the hole like Randle.

2. He see's Green, Alexander, and Baker will all three be ahead of him by being talented sophomores....... and Quickley 99% going to UK who is rated higher than him.... UK being in the top 2 for Zion and Barrett...... I mean if Johnson committed right now, he might come into a situation where he doesnt play his freshman year at all.
