Sheppard is nowhere near ready for the NBA but I dont think it very likely he plays college another year. This is the mentality now which is why the pros is virtually unwatchable from what it was 20-30 years ago

That is a HUGE decision for a teenager/young man to make, go pro or come back to your state's school where both your parents played. Glad he has a solid foundation and good people in his corner to guide him. As a fan he was pure joy to watch and I would love to see him play another season at UK, however I am realistic and understand the landscape of the college game and the NBA.

I did something different yesterday when I met Reed with little morg. Everyone else was telling him to come back come back come back. When me and my son left him from the picture I just said “okay Reed see ya next year” and I might be crazy but he was so confused. Just sort of stuttered a little and looked at us. It was very noticeable. I’m just sayin… he had a look to him that I can’t describe. Like he wondered how I know that.

I think it’s possible Pope being hired has a lot to do with Reed Sheppard. These people are not just about money. If you know anything about them you know that.

How dare you suggest that UK would hire a coach that might help them retain their top player?

In the middle of it it’s terrible. Yea Barney just stayed too long man. I can’t say I’m not ready to move on but not sure if it needs to be THIS way.

Pope is going to be fine. The job will elevate him and he just needs that 1 Mashburn type guy to lock into him and it’ll take care of itself from there. And in the era of NIL? That’s going to be easy.

I didn't think so before, but I think the money is there for Reed to make more in NIL next year than he would in the NBA. Or at least roughly the same.

I'm saying there would be private donations for him specifically to stay that would get him in that range. Not saying it will come to fruition or that Reed will stay regardless.

It may be but I just can’t see it anyway. It’s a large ask to get that kinda money for one player who isn’t good enough to carry next years team. I definitely want him back because he would be one of the best but he needs help and that kinda investment would hurt that ability.

Same here. Pitino was pissed. If I recall it was Sheppard and Pitino said he had gone “bobsledding”😂

I've been wrong about a lot over the last few days and I really hope I am about Reed but I just can't see him coming back. But again....I hope he does!
