Jeff Goodman Says Kansas Will Beat Kentucky This Season

Jeff Goodman working for ESPNFL proves anyone can do anything If you work hard enough. They guy isn't that smart, is ugly as hell, and still made it.

Anyone can do it.

It's a toss-up. I'd probably pick Kansas at the Phog, too, at this point.

Meh, he didn't really say anything crazy but eff the guy.

**Picks a 3-POINT Win for Kansas on their home floor with most any preseason polls etc. picking KU at most maybe 2 spots behind UK in the rankings and the game's in Lawrence....."eff him"?

He's not exactly being over the top proclaiming KU will kick UK's a$$es!!!

you just dont walk into phog allen fieldhouse and come out with a W. there is a huge intimidation factor once you look up into the rafters and see all those kenpom, rip, sargin, and regular season banners hanging.

***I've been to Allen & Rupp. NO COMPARISON!!!!!

Allen likely 1,000,000 x rowdier / crazier & certainly louder than Rupp for a game of this stature. There isn't a bad seat in the place and they're "on top of you".

When I'd been at Rupp in the upper deck it felt like a minor league hockey arena.

More BS.

keep it coming.

Nothing wrong with phog, nice venue, but when we need a win, I'll take rupp. It gets real.

I'll take the Phog. Both have great coaches but both of them are overrated. Self can't win in March and Calipari has only won 1 title but he's won 6 off-season national championships since he's been at UK. That's only a 17% success rate. Not good.

I'd take the Phog over Rupp, as far as atmosphere. It's no secret that the blue hairs fall asleep early and often. As for coaches, I'll take Cal, and I still think we're undeniably better at every position. Having said that, I think home court advantage could be huge in this game. Put it on neutral court and UK wins this.

I never said he was being over the top, I even stated it wasn't anything crazy he said. I don't care for the guy and his hard on for hating UK, so yes eff the guy. If you really think Goodman is pro UK, please put down the pipe.

Isn't the game in January? That's not really early in the season.

We always have a new group, I feel pretty good about our chances. We could very well lose that game but I really don't think we will.

Skal, Murray, Ulis, Briscoe, Poy

That's a lot of talent in our lineup man, fvck Kansas.

I'm not saying we can't win, or won't win....just saying that it's not insane to think otherwise. No reason to jump all over Goodman for his pick.

If UK can go into an insane AFH, against a team that has revenge on their mind from the beat down last season and win, all I can say is we would be definite title contenders.

Not many win there, most are legit but they are known to get a very favorable whistle. I even saw a game Selden was hustling for a loose ball and clearly stepped out of bounce by the scorekeepers table and KU got the ball. There isn't much room on the baselines at all, hope no players are injured.

You need to research goodmans "picks" when UK is a choice. The guy hates UK and consistently picks away and downgrades the cats with any given sliver of a chance.

Hats where people are eye rolling, not at the damn pick itself.

Seriously UK fan, you should know that.

Perhaps, on Jan. 30, we might witness Skal or Jamal Murray pull-off another Kevin-Durant-in-Allen-Fieldhouse type of performance (2007):

Below is a link to an article about the amazingness and significance of Durant's AFH performance, with quotes from Durant's father, Bill Self, several sports-writers, and from an awe-struck Danny Manning, who himself was 'a one-man show' (before his career-altering, nba, rookie-season knee injury). Manning's still the ncaa men's 10th-place all-time scorer (and best 'passing big man' I've ever seen). (Note: In the 1988 championship game, he had 31 points, 18 rebounds, 5 steals, 2 asts, and 2 blocked shots.):

Video highlights of that 2007 Durant game:

Or, perhaps Murray will pull a "Peeler":

In 1992, Mizzou's Anthony Peeler went to AFH and hung 43 on KU:

Note: Purdue's Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson hung 44 on KU, back in the 1994 NCAA Tourney (NOT in Allen FH)(Purdue won by 5), but Robinson suffered a back injury at the end of that KU game and, in Purdue's next game, vs. Duke (an Elite Eight match-up), he didn't move well and scored only 13. Of course, Duke went on to win, then play for the title (where they lost to Arkansas).

Amazing, the lying coward KU fan who wants us to think he is UK fan shows examples of 2 games KU wins...

KU has went 140-3 at that place since 2007. Would last year's UK team have won there? Absolutely. Will this year's? At this point I'd say until I see them really showing out and dominating teams before KU. There's nothing wrong with losing a game on the road to a top team. I mean UK has went 102-4 at Rupp since Cal has been here so teams do not win here much either. It's funny, of the 4 teams UK has lost to they should have lost to just one of them (FL in 2014). The other three UK was the better team.

I say Kansas wins, but only because they'll have homecourt. On a neutral site we win by 15, possibly maybe much much worse.

Are you blaming the refs already?
Do you think Kentucky gets favorable calls in Rupp?

Seriously? How can you even predict that. You haven't even seen anyone on your team play with the exception of Ullis, Poythress and Lee. ETA: And I mean you haven't seen them play as a team. Watching your incoming freshmen play in high school all-star games, youtube highlight videos, or National teams with completely different players with different skillsets, doesn't count.

We did see your players get stomped down by us and TEMPLE..so there's that...

Yo Jarms, if you are still looking for a 13-14 team ball, I have one with a COA and am in Paducah. I'll take $110, shoot me a text 27OH-564-4412

That's kind of surprising. Goodman usually likes to pretend Cal has way more talent and Self is coaching a team full of bums. When Self defeats Cal, its a sign of coaching greatness.

You're just gonna have to accept the fact that we're a little better at this whole "Basketball" thing than you are.

Wow, KU fans don't even recognize their own fans.

Anyhow. Most fans of teams will always be biased. Goodman is no different. If he any integrity, he wouldn't show bias, but that's clearly not the case.

Notice the smiley face. Also search my posts and you'll see that I clearly have stated he's not a Kentucky fan and I have a good guess on what username he posts over on the Kansas site. I believe another of the Kentucky regulars who posts here called him out correctly.

Sorry that post confused you. #smileyface

No confusion, Just realize you have nothing to do but troll a UK message board with lame jokes. It's ok though, I don't mind you attention seeking to try and keep KU relevant here. Clearly the games between the two programs hasn't.

Troll on the wayward son. There'll be peace when you are done, Lay your weary head to rest. Don't you cry no more. - Kansas

No. You were confused. I'm glad I was able to clear it up for you.

I generally post in threads about KU or about KU recruiting targets that Kentucky is recruiting as well.

Make peace, not war, brah.

OK hoss. Keep selling KU to UK. I get the reasoning behind it. Last year, and the title game still stings. I'm sure I'll see you around later today and tomorrow as well. Hell, you're on a UK board more than I am, and I'm a UK fan.

BTW, I was curious how KU fans were getting likes here, and now I see there's so many of you here daily, it adds up. You guys really are desperate for attention and acceptance. For the betterment of the board, I'll just add you two lovebirds to my ignore list. Have fun attention seeking.

Absolutely we have got a favorable whistle over the years. Most home teams do, not hard to admit the truth.
Do you think Iowa St got screwed when Withey got 6 fouls and an obvious replay on a charge call. KU got a break at ISU. Kept the streak intact.

I liked his post, Clive

Fact is with both coaches at a Blue Blood program, it is Calipari 3 Self 0. It will be very hard to get the 4th. In fact it would surprise me, very hard place to play. UK coming to town gets how much attention? KU fans are paying how much for tickets? UK moves the needle, that is why the national sports writers are already covering the game.

22-6 all time, Caipari is 3-0 vs Self with both at historic programs. Fact is, this is their Super Bowl.
This isn't even the most important game for UK.
Will Kansas fans storm the court if they win? 22-6 and 3-0 is pretty much a domination.
UK has won 79% of our games vs KU's winning percentage of 21%. Court storming would be in order but KU fans think differently. Like the bread banners. I respect their program, but have some class and throw those away.
I worry Duke may catch us in National Championships. Unbelievable- K has 5 and will be absolutely loaded next season. If he gets the 6th, I would put him over Wooden if not already.
Key injuries have possibly cost UK 2 more in Cal's reign. WCS would have tormented UConn guards and protected the rim. Poythress would have made a huge difference s Wisconsin.
