I've never been on the Zion is fat train but things have changed... YIKES!

That is really poor self control to let yourself go THAT badly, after having one of the best finishes to the season last year. This guy was really on the verge of becoming a superstar, and he might have literally flushed the entire thing down the drain with this one off-season. Pretty sad.

He was WOBBLING back and forth!! NO WAY you could call that "Warming up"!!!

I guess you could call him FAT AND HAPPY. Amazing how someone with his ability and youth could let himself get that big that quick. Whatever product companies(especially his shoe company) he endorses should have put in specific physical parameters for his contracts.

WOW!!

He'll be on the I R more often than he won’t be and the ones that are going to look like crap are the ones that decided to take him #1 in the draft and sign him to a monster deal.

I always thought those contracts went to guys that will be in the league for a long time, everyone and their mother knew that Zion's body would never hold up for more than a few years.

he'll be out of the NBA within 5 years
I said this very thing 3 years ago. I myself have a similar style body as he carries. I’m 6’4 and at my heaviest weighed 345 pounds. Finally grew tired of having to special order my clothes and have someone else tie my shoes. He has been catered to his whole life. You gotta have the discipline to know what and when to eat.

I now weigh 255 pounds and I have to watch everything I eat. With the resources he has at his disposal, it comes down to a simple choice. You get what you work for. He could quit tomorrow and never work another day in his life , he’d probably be 450 pounds by next summer. Somebody needs to sit him down.

It wasn't difficult to see this coming. He'll have to be really dedicated to drop the weight and keep it off. It's hard. I'm his same build, but a bit shorter. And not even a fraction of his athleticism. You've got to be diligent with your diet and exercise.
Wow, you saw this coming? Too bad every GM in the NBA couldnt. Some NBA team should sign you to keep them from making these horrible decisions

Zion is a different kind of specimen.
It doesn't even begin to make sense how he leaps off the floor like he does. Crazy athletic. On a missed lay up with defenders around him he goes back up on a 2nd jump faster than anyone I've ever seen. He's been labeled as being overweight and fat since his junior year of highschool but the man is pretty vascular. He can't be too out of shape and have veins popping out everywhere in his biceps and shoulders. Everything about the guy doesn't make sense.

I've never seen anyone have trouble walking like he does

Yeah he did. As did many of us. We were calling it here a long time before you started posting on here. And many of us were attacked for failing to see his promise. And now, we are being proven right and you’re still trying to win?

Learn when to throw in the towel bro. And maybe get a lay of the land before you go on the offensive on people who have been here far longer than you.

I’m not trying to win. I just think it’s funny that people want to call a guy fat that sets a Duke vertical leap record, is athletic as hell, and makes almost 11 million a year. Must really suck to be 22, fat, and making such a low salary to work 5 months a year. Just don’t really get the hate. And calling what? Last time I checked, he still wears an NBA uniform. Horrible life he has

So sad because healthy that dude’s just otherworldly. If the media weren’t crazy biased the narrative would be all about how K can’t hold a candle to Cal because he couldn’t win a title even with Zion plus Barrett.

Or how Duke would have beat k state. Because Cals one title > than K’s 5

Yep. That Zion+Barrett flameout exposes all the smoke and mirrors behind K’s gift wrapped titles.

What otherworldly player did you think we had on the floor against K State the year before and why do you think it’s relevant?

Nothing is relevant unless it means uk wins. Always been that way, always will. Every other team, every other player is trash

Dude needs a dietician and a personal chef, especially when he gets injured and can't work out. He's gonna have to make a concerted effort to watch his weight his entire career.
It's your thread and I know I could have just passed over it but I feel you could have worded the title a little better.

I dont really watch NBA anymore but

He seems like a great young man, let's hope he can get healthy and back to doing what he does.

Peace! :)

Fat Hami.
No. The “Fat Hami” lines were always very wrong. Zion played nothing whatsoever like Hami, he was one of the best and most efficient players in college hoops history. Very much the real deal.

But this is a real problem. Once heavy dudes start to gain weight without control, they rarely ever make it back to their prior level of athleticism. Bodies peak at different ages, and with heavy guys it tends to happen at an earlier age …sometimes at just like 18 or 19 …and then it’s all downhill from there. Zion looks like he might be one of those guys.

But, unlike some others here, I take no joy in it. I’ve quite enjoyed watching the guy play. Even if he was a Dukie.

Yeah Zion, I did see this coming for you. I said this awhile ago.

I've noticed you on here. It's obvious you are a shitty Duke troll. I've noticed the pattern with your posts. The only time you post is on Duke stuff. STFU and go back to your own board.
