this time it's Cal. Are you perfect? There's plenty of mistakes from most of the players and the coach. I can think of two players who took shots out of their comfort zone and of course, missed. I can think of one who dribbled off his foot at the baseline who should never have been dribbling unless he was within two dribbles to the basket. I can think of a team who always outplayed an opponent in the last five minutes of a game, but got outplayed last night in that time frame. I can think of guards who normally finish strong to the basket or get fouled, but last night at crunch time didn't. I can think of our greatest clutch shooter from 3 who shot an air ball at a critical moment. I can think of a team and players who almost never had clock violations during the season, but three in four possessions at crunch time. I can think of a shooter who was shooting lights out from 3 in mid-season and was shooting at a thimble in this NCAA tournament. We win as a team. We lose as a team. Each player will replay their mistakes in this game a hundred times in the rest of their life. I have from high school basketball in a big game. They're our team. Cherish their accomplishment of going 38-0 to start the season. I'm proud of Cal because of his success as our coach. I'm just as proud of Cal, the man, who is kind and thoughtful. The players first coach that has made us relevant again.
