I am what I consider to be a little closer to the UK football coaches than most other UK football fans. I have been attending what is known as “The Coaches For Kids “ fundraiser for about 12 years. It is normally held at one of the famous Lexington Horse Breeding farms the last Saturday in July.
I have gotten to know Mark Stoops and especially Brad White and Vince Marrow on first name basis.
I recently attended a UK football practice the Wednesday PM before our home opener against Miami. I have set up an NIL fundraiser using my sons UK Athletics sanctioned NIL foundation to assist in fund raising for charities. The one I am doing will be for $1,000 going to Chris Rodriguez once approved by the UK athletics department. It will be a 100% tax deductible donation.
My point is this. All UK fans have to do their part helping to raise NIL monies for particularly getting better football recruits to UK. Just for everyone’s information 4 of the top NIL players in UK’s game against the Gators yesterday were Florida players. The only player UK had in the top 5 was Will Levis who came in at # 3 with his combined NIL deals totaling about $500,000.
Stoops is frustrated as hell about this and my fear that this will finally have him leave as the UK football coach sooner rather than later.
If you would like more info about making a tax deductible donation to help assisting our UK football recruiting efforts email me at katsfan99@aol.com
We all have to do our part if we want UK football continue to be one of the best in the SEC.
GO CATS!

Brady you are well known throughout the UK fan base as being generous with your free UK ticket game packages. I say with all my heart felt gratitude “Thanks SO Much”. You are truly one of the ALL Time Great UK FANS EVER. Wish we had more like you! Perhaps you might have some ideas you could share with me and other UK fans about the importance of NIL. You have much more credibility than me and I think whatever you may share on this board could go a long way towards other UK fans getting more involved with NIL.

Thanks for the kind words. It’s ideas like yours that will help. We have to get business owners to find deals that can generate income for them as well as an NIL deal for the players.

My plan is to sign every player to an autograph NIL deal for my collectibles store. Where fans can come and buy an autographed 8x10 where 95% of the profit goes to the athlete. The other 5% covers CC fees and a small profit that shows it’s a positive for the business as well(fits within the rules).

Is there actual talk of him leaving because of the NIL shit?

you do know that a player in any sport in Kentucky high school loses their amateur status if they accept NIL. In other words you can’t recruit them in their junior or senior year with NIL. In 19 states you can but not in Kentucky. KHSAA rules that need to be changed. That’s why so many seniors transfer to states that allow high school players to accept NIL deals. This will create have and have not states and will affect the high school athletes recruiting. A senior in HS wants it now not not after they graduate

If they are listed as a non-profit it’s tax deductible but the IRS will have a look. These Collectives are popping up everywhere some sanctioned by schools and some freelancers. Google NIL collectives and theirs a site www.on3.com. Or go to www.opendorse.com and look at the deal. Even has football players from UPike

I thought Reed had a deal.

Must be, we hear it most days. I guess he has expressed leaving to somebody. I haven't heard him say it in public but maybe to somebody like Matt Jones or Ryan Lemond behind the scenes.

It sounds like the threat of losing him is there. It would be a bad thing to lose coach over not enough money for the players but I guess it is real.

when you have schools who have an ad embracing nil and collectives with 10 mil just for recruiting on one side. Then have our ad who does little to help out our program with nil. Why would or should stoops stay. I think leaving would be hard for him to do. If it becomes to hard to get the players he wants then what else can the guy do.

Shadowman4 here. My name is Garry Harris and I have been posting on these boards for many, many years. My wife and I are both UK graduates. The person who I am speaking of to assist UK fans in the understanding of NIL and how it works is my son Todd Harris. He heads the NIL Foundation of which I am a founding member. I was at a UK Football practice the Wednesday prior to our home opener against Miami. Mark Stoops walked up to us and immediately began to engage with my son Todd about what a successful NIL fundraising event my sons NIL foundation had assisted in putting on just 2 weeks prior.
I think we all want UK athletics to be successful, especially our football and basketball programs. Due to UK’s historic tradition in Basketball, I believe that in and of itself will always give UK a leg up in Basketball recruiting.
However, I know on a personal basis from talking NIL with UK football coaches just how frustrated Mark Stoops is with the lack of support UK football is getting regarding NIL. This has to do with his frustration with the administration not getting behind NIL like other SEC schools and with the UK fan base as well.
For those UK fans that want to assist in a correct and permissible manner to stay within NCAA guidelines, I would encourage you to reach out to my son regarding how you can assist UK athletics with NIL.
UK is currently in an ARMS race against other SEC schools to properly use NIL to our advantage. I would encourage you to reach out to my son so he can answer any and all questions about NIL and how you can assist. My sons email is tgh3316@gmail.com Mine is katsfan99@aol.com. GO CATS

ADs embracing collectives for recruiting is illegal, against state law, and a violation of NCAA rules. Yall just want to openly cheat and break the law but are the first ones to judge and act holier than thou when other schools get busted doing it.

Oh no, our AD is against cheating and breaking the rules. Far him and bring in Tom Jurich, we can pay for recruits and provide them with hookers too. Anything to win.

Specifically how does the admistration not support. NiL? I'm guessing you will never answer because you know it's not true.

Just google——collectives and NIL
go to the on3 web site listed and it show all the states and lists the collectives that already have been formed.

For example in Alabama it’s lists 5, three for Auburn and two for Bama.
one For Kentucky

you will laugh at the reason used to pay recruits from their written synopsis listing NIL as their reason.

maybe I’m stupid but a collective, let’s call it Kentucky Forum who openly want and takes donations for University of Kentucky athletes only seems wrong under NCAA guidelines. Naming one Kentucky Charities and having funds go to basketball players at UK seems a stressful situation. So a legit charity like Eastern Kentucky Flood relief, or Red Cross hires these kids to promote and then are paid from donations to Kentucky Charities? What about the actual relief?

wouldn’t the IRS think it weird that your donation to a non- profit called Kentucky Charities gives less money to a flood victim than a UK basketball or football recruit?

Just asking the same questions an IRS audit would ask.

Again, collectives paying recruits is 100% against NCAA rules and Kentucky state law.

But that is what’s confusing. In the eyes of Kentucky, the legal status is quite different between a high school senior and someone who is not in HS. Out of HS your a free agent. The whole NIL deal works better with transfers between University’s than HS seniors. If you can’t offer a HS senior a nil deal before he goes to college by doing so it’s a NCAA violation, right. I’m sure few care if it’s a ncaa violation to say we can get you a 100,000 nil deal if you go to UK after you sign or transfer. Goes back to the SEC guidelines. If you ain’t cheaten, you ain’t tryen

You can't offer or promise any PSA (potential student athlete) money as the Universityof Kentucky, a colloctive, or any 3rd party entity. Once they are signed and a student athlete at UK collectives and 3rd parties can offer them whatever they want for name image and likeness. In the recruiting process it is a violation of NCAA rules for a collective to be involved in any way. It is illegal for coaches to say we have a collective and this is what they will give you.

The NCAA allowed Kansas to win the national championship after they ADMITTED to paying players through Adidas. So why does Mitch keep UK Athletes hampered by complying to them????

The main reason Mitch is against NIL is because it takes sponsors away from the university and allows them to DIRECTLY use players for advertising. JMI paid UK a boatload of money for the rights to all things UK. So Mitch is trying to hold on to that money for as long as possible.

The Kentucky House and Senate along with Andy needs to pass legislation that will allow NIL money to be used easier, NOW!!!! We will lose coach Stoops and all of the progress we have made if the Kentucky government doesn’t get this fixed.

Stoops isn’t telling anything that important to Lemond and I don’t even mind the guy.

More power to the people that can afford to do this. Most normal fans cannot. There is also no guarantee these donations result in any significant things like a sec or national title because all the other schools have NIL too.

Can you tell us which NIL program you support?
I support all NIL programs that are legal. Specifically what NIL programs do you think I or UK doesn't support? Yall never give specifics. Are you wanting to blatantly cheat and pay recruits to be like UL, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Kansas and other cheaters? If so just say so and stop sugar coating it.
