good point but it depends on how you look at it. It would not have been a surprise going into TJ's announcement if he had picked Kentucky, and things happened very quickly if you remember....almost right after the UW pick there was chatter that left open the door. I think this, Noel and TJ are definitely up there. Teague based on where things stood at a certain point.

I agree completely. It is the perfect storm similar to what Rick had going when he decided to move to the Celtics. When he returned to Louisville he has been very successful but not nearly what he could have done at UK. I think Cal is smart enough to understand this and will ride this horse a long time.

Well its no secret even at Umass, memphis he landed 5 star kids it wasnt until his final season at memphis that he started to put it all together, HAD HE STAYED AT MEMPHIS, he would have gotten every recruit he did at UK minus daniel orton but plus xavier kid that went to Kansas. Surprise! 2010 recruiting class had nothing to do with UK. I dont care if you agree or disagree, you have that right but what i know for a fact is while he is recruiting a kid UK only comes up to say UK is not for everyone wich, he would say nomatter what college he was coaching, and how close it is to home and the like, he will bring up BBN our reputation precedes us, but the kids come because the coaches. Im done talking about it this board loses comon sense.

Wrong again. It's a combination. Even Cal has said it. If you really think he would have had the #1 or #2 recruiting class every year like he has had at UK at Memphis as well then you keep living in your little world.

1. Randle was biggest to me....and edges out Knox as Julius as a higher rated recruit
2. Knox is 2nd biggest...hard to argue when 80%+ had Duke and then UNC.
3. Murray would be #3 as it was slight Oregon lead the day he picked UK

Right, because Cal has never missed on any targets that went ELSEWHERE. Those schools didn't have Cal and landed many top players. What are you rambling about?

I never got a good read on Knox. His camp was tight lipped. I know Mr. Knox and P.J. Washington's father were very good friends. That's not really much to go on. I know we got a very good Player to add to out Number 1 class. I'm still for Cam Johnson and Bomba to come aboard as I feel Diallo has jumped ship!

However to act like cal would be able to land all the same guys at memphis (For 8 straight years) who is not on national television every game, Doesn't have the facilities or budget as Kentucky, not playing in a major conference, and cant schedule the out of conference games Kentucky can is just as crazy. Cal is a great recruiter but being at Kentucky takes his ability to recruit to another level.

When green signed alot of people thought we would move into the driver's seat with Diallo Knox and Bamba. Washington is tight with them all as well but he was already here then Vanderbilt signed and everyone wrote them off after seeing Vanderbilt I realized he and Knox are completely different players Washington is closer to Knox and he and Knox are buds so I don't think it hurts.

Who got hurts are negative recruiting butt lickers like Capel who hollered shit like platoon and used it against us after 15 well after the success the 6th man from 15 is having in the NBA and towns scored just 10 points a game and was number one and blew up in the league. With most of that team doing well in the league it backfired big time gonna be way harder to have a ref get this bunch in foul trouble and control the game to much versatility and not much drop off player from player

but it actually was about to happen lol. Its common knowledge that Cal was getting all the same players he got here but even better with SG that went to KU INSTEAD of coming to UK with CAL. Its so funny because these are the same posters that got mad at me for saying i dont care about the NBA im 100% all about UK, ironically get mad when i tell the truth and say these recruits come for coach Cal to get to the NBA , not because ok Kentucky on the front.

Truly if people cannot understand this for what this truly is, its because there either trolling me, or delusions of grandeur. These recruits would follow Cal ANYWHERE! UK was nothing like this before the main ingredient came here, its true people call it the Kentucky effect but its really the Calapari effect. Let Cal leave next year(knock on wood he doesnt) And the Kentucky effect will magically disapear. The effect has three main ingredients 1. Cal 2. Top 25 five star recruit 3 Cals amazing connections with NBA GM's, scouts, and coaches, AND WWW wich was completely explained in his 30 for 30.

It wasn't an upset because no one knew who the favorite was. Everyone was guessing. But it was quite a surprise. Reminds me a bit of Randle, where we heard Texas, Florida, Kansas and Kentucky at one point but it was UK all along.
