I think a case can be made.

I know we will have to wait until the season is over to make a true and clear assessment and Sheppard clearly has a better supporting cast.

Ill hang up and listen.

If they played against each other, Lil Shepp's team wins, he does so many things for his teammates and team. Chapman would score more points and have more highlights that you would remember. Lil Shepp will do what his team needs him to do for his team to win. Chapman would outball you on offense. Both are great.
I take lil Shepp everytime though but both are Cats for life.

Go Cats!

Everything about Rex is overrated. His time at UK, his attempted coaching career, his announcing, his twitter….they were really all trash.

Like what, he won the dunk contest in an era where he was the only white dude who could jump? What was his record at UK? How about in the tournament? How many NBA playoff games was he in? How did he treat our program once he left?

Hell with that guy.

Even in high school, Rex has always been a prick. In spite of opinions about him personally, under appreciating his talent is just acting like a heart broken little school girl.

I’m not sure but I think so far he’s better than Freshman Wagner and Freshman Edwards

Rex was dynamic and electric, but Geeze, Reed just makes all the right plays and he makes those plays at critical times of the game.

Tuff choice, both are/we’re awesome.

Reed seems to make everyone on the team better so I lean towards Reed.

Both are bad SOB’s

I like Reed a lot but I think Rex was better. Maybe not a fair comparison though, because Reed isn’t asked to do as much for this team as Rex was.
I was thinking the same lines, we needed Rex to score, this team doesn’t need Reed to score. Different pressure to, you were talking about King Rex!

I can say based on some past personal interaction that he was a prick in college too. Not that the rest of the state noticed. I think being treated like a Ky kid god messed with his head and gave him an unhealthy sense of special entitlement that he’s still never quite shaken.

But no such thing seems to have happened to Reed. Perhaps that’s a testament to good parents who did their job well.

Being treated like a "Ky. kid god" sure didn't help his already narcissistic behavior. He was spoiled and entitled growing up.
That said, he was fun to watch on the court.....

You are so correct, Chapman mainly played for himself, not his team.

Rex was just before my time, so highlights only.

If you just look at stats it is Reed. He leads in literally every category minus ppg but that isn't everything. Granted we are only 1/3 through the season. The pace Reed is on suggests it is him by a mile. Conference season will tell alot but his performance against top competition suggests not much will change.

Rex:
33mpg
16ppg/.44/.39
2.3 rbs
3.6 ast
1.2 stl
.5 blks
2.4 TO

Reed:
27mpg
13ppg/.59/.58
4.6 rbs
4.8 ast
2.8 stl
.8 blks
1.5 TO

Looking at the stats, Rex was a bit before my time, I'd take Reed.

And I think Reed would go top 10 in the draft if this were 1988.
