Is Freshman Sheppard better than Freshman Chapman

i’m sure I’m not ignore, so here it goes…LOL

Hey, it’s called willpower my friend. And we’re talking about Rex here my friend. Stop with the whataboutisms…not talking about some vet who was disabled in combat to defend our country and sorry ass people as yourself….or some cancer patient who was inflicted with a disease. Keep up with the conversation sparky. We’re talking about a person who made millions off of idolizers as yourself then couldnt handle the pressure and decided to cope by popping stuff in his mouth because he felt sorry for his wittle self... Oh, and then he became a thief….You think I feel sorry for a person who makes bad choices then wants to play the victim because of his choice? Hahahahaha…you got me f’d up sparky. Sorry, not this guy.

Uneducated view?…oh educate me exalted one 😂

Maybe Rex should’ve just ignored my post instead of attacking me…classic case of FAFO…didnt have to be this way, but again, bad choices lead to consequences…

And yeah I beat him down…and I just did the same to you…want a tissue?
You probably need to educate yourself on what drives athletes to be addicts. Most athletes display an "addict" personality by being addicted to the sport they are trying to master. Most top tier athletes are under extreme pressure by family, coaches and fans and will do what they feel like they need to ascertain that level of admiration and approval. When you don't have that sport due to retirement or injury, a lot of athletes will get addicted to other negative things such as gambling, or in this case painkillers.

So don't try to act like you understand a high level athlete's mindset and what drives them.

High level…low level…what difference does it make…it’s called WEAKNESS…SELF ABSORBED PITY…nobody forced that crap down his throat…and certainly nobody forced him into an apple store to steal ipads…

I’ve had 8 surgeries since 2012 (2 right knee, 1 left knee, 5 left arm <— got more hardware than The Terminator)…had all kinds of pain meds pre & post surgery…you name it, I probably had it…when I was in pain, i took it…when I was healed…guess what? I STOPPED taking it…end of story.

so dont preach to me about what level of stress a MILLIONAIRE has to go through…ya know like, being able to work again, or have function in your arm so you can do the things you used to do…or how i was going to be able to support my two young kids during and after my injuries…I wasnt blessed with his height and his talent to be able to set millions back in savings or investments to support my family and my recovery from my injury…did all that pressure stop me or make me throw back a bottles of oxy?…nope…took care of business, rehabbed all my injuries, got back on the saddle…didnt wallow in the “darkness”…now I’m stronger than ever…

Not to mention, if I recall correctly he didnt have a career ending injury…so again, due to his WEAKNESS AND SELF ABSORBED PITY, he turned to drugs because “life is too hard” or “I’m not special anymore”…spare me with that crap…sounds like a spoiled brat that mommy and daddy spoon fed his whole life and learned how life really works…he got a real good dose of life…because he was WEAK…and made bad decisions.

My God is the whole Chapman family on this board????

Now back to the subject…was Rex a good player? Of course he was. Loved watching him play at UK…

is Reed better than Rex? Not a good comparison. Reed is a great player but two totally different kinds of players. He’s more of a Macy type. Very smart and very heady ball player.

Rex was a freak at that time. He lived up to the hype. Rex was flashy but could back it up. Reed flows with the game and anticipates great on defense. Hope Reed stays 2 years. Would love to see him grow.

I just wish Rex was one year older. Would've like to have seen Rex on the 85-86 team with Walker. That team was so close. Rex might have put them over the top.
Of course it could have not worked as well. You couldn't sit the PG Harden. I guess Blackmon could have been a good 6th man.

Other than race, how is it any further off than comparing him to Reed?

Other than they both playing basketball for UK, what are the similarities?

Dillingham is of slight build, is shorter, has much better quickness and change of direction, elite elite handle can get whatever he wants off the bounce but often looks to facilitate.

Physically, reed isn't that far from Chapman except not quite the vertical. Mentally is where they differ. Reed plays winning basketball that doesn't produce many highlights. Chapman was just the opposite.

Rex lived in Frankfort in 5th grade - my elementary school team played his and he absolutely destroyed us. He was good enough to have played in HS in fifth grade. We were all jacking it from our hip and he was shooting perfect jumpers.

I was a freshman at UK at the same time he was - I cannot find a write-up but I remember him scoring 10 points in the last minute against UT. Forced OT and won the game. Anyone else recall if I got that right? I was in Haggin, therefore drunk. LOL

How the heck do you think Dillingham's "slight build" differentiates him from Rex? Rex was absolutely thin as a rail his freshman year.

Other than race, I wholly fail to see how Reed is any more similar to Rex than Rob. They're both about the same height and a bit shorter than Rex. And Dillingham's statistical profile and style of play is plainly more similar to Rex's than Reed's. Both Rex and Rob shoot and score more, but get fewer assists and steals, than Reed does. Both Rob and Rex played more like shooting guards and less like point guards than Reed does. Both reliant on explosive athleticism in similar ways. Both with a similar reckless streak to their game. I don't think either guy is that good a comparative for Rex ...but, stylistically, Rob is closer. Reed plays more like Macy.

Besides, we both know the only reason Rex keeps getting brought up as a comparative for Reed is the Ky white boy thing.

Rex was for Rex. Reed is for team, so to me hands down gimme me Reed any day over Rex.
Says it all to this day. Rex a better player than person and proving it going forward.

Reed will be the best recruit out of Kentucky since? and it won't be Rex.
