Interesting; 2 Guys Picked Marques Bolden To UK Today; 1 A KU Insider

I'm not sure what's been unbearable in this thread. Seem normal basketball and recruiting talk to me.

Michigan State will look like this most likely.

Winston
Harris
Bridges
Schilling
Davis

Langford SG
Ward PF
McQuaid SG
Nairn Jr. PG
Clark F
Bess F
Goins SG

It'll be interesting to see how their rotation works out. Between guys like Clark, Bess, and Goins. I think Nairn may start at the beginning but Cassius Winston is so much better of a PG he'll take his spot pretty quick IMO. Winston's tough. A really good scoring PG. And Ward a 4star PF may end up getting a lot of mins too, but you have to assume Schilling in his SR year will start and provide leadership and probably put up 6-8pts, 5-6rbs.

I don't know if Selden will go but I do know that UK has had too many guys not live up to draft expectations to throw stones. Anyway I root for a college basketball team, not an NBA farm team so the smack talk on where guys get drafted bores me. I'm not related to these guys so why should I really care what they do with their professional lives?
That's silly. You could also say "I don't care if they run around with hookers and blow - they're not related to me". They represent your university, and when they do well, your university looks good, and other high level kids will want to attend. You don't want your university to be affiliated with failure in your chosen career... or hookers.

I just think a lot of college basketball fans get caught up in how many first round picks you have and how they perform in the NBA. It might be a coach's job to do that but I'm not sure why I am supposed to care. I care about wins and championships. Also getting drafted in the second round is a far cry from hookers and blow.

You don't care about how former Kansas players do after they leave? I followed ex-cats in the NBA way before Cal came. Mashburn, Antoine Walker, Tayshaun Prince. Heck, I never had an NBA team around where I grew up so I just based who I root for by where my favorite ex-Cats are playing.

I grew up in KC, if I were to root for an NBA team the only one that it would be would be the Kings and they're in Sacramento now, not to mention that I'd have to root for the Kings. So maybe if I followed the NBA more I'd pay attention more.

So KU fans, is Bolden just playing UK then? I mean why are all these experts saying UK now if we have no shot at him? The only two answer is that UK has serious momentum or Bolden is playing UK and with Bolden's mentor being connected to Julius Randle... I highly doubt he's playing UK.

I'm sure recruits care how former players are drafted and play in the NBA, which ultimately does a play vital role in the success of your school.. When recruits see players get drafted in the lottery and then succeed in the NBA, that perception is huge when it comes to recruiting.

Yeah i know right? Like Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe, Knight, Noel, Davis, and Towns? LMAO. Yeah those guys suck don't they. I tell you who's tearing it up in the league. Cliff Alexander and Joel Embid. They're like freaking all stars dawg. Ptf. You dumb a**. And the list is gonna get a lot bigger too. Because kids like Trey Lyles, Devin Booker, and WCS are going to be really good players pretty soon.

We've been to four F4s in 5 years along with a title. The tremendous NBA success of our former players is just another result of such success. This is easy to understand.

Knitting bores me. You know what you don't see me doing? Making my wife a scarf.

If you don't want to talk NBA draft, fine. Don't. Post in another thread or I don't know, maybe a KU board

Skal is leaving. If the draft was held today, he would still be a lock for the lottery
I'm confident Skal will improve to the point that he is a first rounder by the end of the season and will be gone, most probably even a lottery pick but to say he's a lock for the lottery today is a huge stretch(the lottery is just the first 14 picks remember), at this point(if the drat were held today based on current skill levels) I can't see him going any better 20-25 but that will improve.

2. The other idea..."if he can't make NBA now...there is always d-league and/or overseas to refine their trade". D-league kids make about 30k a year...which isn't really much money today. UK provides room and board and clothing which alone has to be close to worth 30k a year alone. Not to mention that whole useless free education thing. Finally to #1 above...worldclass coach and resources for kids to work on their games. Not to mention this new stipend that NCAA has allowed.

Well it's not just $30K in the D League and that's all you're ever gonna make. If Lee were to choose to go to the draft and end up in the D League and still fail to make an NBA roster then he could and would go to Europe or somewhere else overseas where he'd be making hundreds of thousands with the skill to make a long career there. True he would be passing up a senior year where he could improve his skill set and draft position. I'm sure he would take that into consideration and make what he feels is the best decision for him. I'd say he's 95% likely to leave.

Selden has been an underachiever till this year, in fact to start the season he was the exact same player he was a high school player in New Hampshire. May still be but now he is hitting shots

Briscoe is a mid to late first round pick at best. Murray will be top 10. I'm not sold on skal or ulis for that matter going pro yet. They both need more time to get better. Sure ulis could go but he would be at best a late first round pick. I think him returning as a jr would improve his stock tremendously. Skal is still a mystery because we don't know where he will be at the end of the yr

I just seen something where cal told skal he might need two years before he goes to the nba, while I know him returning is very unlikely. Where would that put Bolden with UK if skal or Lee comes back, that is a lot of depth..

Ulis will never be higher than late first round if that. 5'9" guys don't go on the lottery. And I fail to see what he could do after this year to improve his stock. He is what he is and everyone can see it. But besides that, next year's draft is LOADED with guards. I honestly think if he stays he'll drop in the draft.

It's not a stretch at all. How do so many of you still NOT understand the NBA Draft?

It will be hard for Ulis to improve his stock, unless he grows a few more inches, which is highly unlikely.

Unless he just loves college life, why would he stay and have to play for free when he could be making money next season?
