Intentional sabotage

There’s no intentional sabotage. Just a coach that has failed to change with the game and an AD who failed to hold him accountable with a lifetime contract.

Cal cult mad blah blah blah. Just go away.
Lol. That’s ironic. How many times have you been escorted out of here for acting like a jackass? My guess is you will go away long before I will.

The team is utter shit and going nowhere fast and all you cared about doing was patting yourself on the back and making sure everyone knows how awesome you are. Lol clown.

I think your statement validated the OP’s post. It is Cal’s job to have great teams. He got the lifetime deal and mailed it in. He doesn’t like Kentucky because it is a red state. He allowed his team to disrespect the American Flag and embarrassed the Commonwealth. He should have been fired after the 9-16 season
This is moronic. I don’t think Cal is a good coach but your politicsl crap is simply BS.

When Calipario was hired I had a really bad feeling after delight. Because I saw the man in action long before Kentucky. He's a snake. There is a reason no one likes him and he's despised by the coaching fraternity and the NCAA.

He is burning it down this is what he does. He was throwing games at Memphis before he left. Ironically enough, he threw the sweet 16 game against Missouri at Memphis.

I wanted him here but I knew we'd pay for it. I was just hoping he'd want one place to call home. I guess not. Kentucky is about to find out who this guy really is. I've tried to say it for a long time.
Maybe it's time for the guinea prick to find out who Kentuckians really are......

No one was doubting Calipari before his loss to Wiscy. You may have questioned him prior to his hiring at UK, but all that went away in the years 2009 to 2015.

Wanted him hired here. After his first year, I was doubting him. But 2012 changed that a good bit. Screwing his 38-0 team by changing the strategy that got him to 38-0 changed it right back. It's been worse than dodgy since.

Nah. Cals ego is too big to lose on purpose. I'd say the losses hurt him a lot...but hes just too stubborn to change it. Or has completely ran out of ideas.
Yup. I think what we are learning is that he has leaned on top flight assistants for years. Losing robic and payne was disastrous

This is dumb. His kids just aren’t any good. I’m sure he wants to win but I’m afraid he’s lost his touch. Very poorly constructed roster again.
You can say you WANT to win, but people who do win usually do something about it. Cal isn't doing any coaching at this point. So I don't think he wants to win. At least not bad enough to do the work.

Nah, I don't think that's true. By destroying the program he is essentially destroying his career and reputation. His ego is too large for that. I seriously think they man doesn't have anyone around him to bluntly tell him the truth.

Nah. I think he was broken after the 2015 season. I think had he won that he would've left afterwards and was planning on moving on after that.

Not evolving with the game done him in. It's about spacing and Cal still thinks it's about size and athleticism. Refusing to play power forwards that can shoot and create has done him in. Add to the fact that one of our primary PGs also cannot shoot really creates problems.. His defense is also antique. Pressure the ball 35 feet from the basket to only get beat off the dribble is also a recipe for disaster. Guard the goal. We don't have Anthony Davis in there cleaning up after kids get beat to the goal..

This may be the dumbest post I have ever read on here and I have read a lot. He is throwing games because he don't like the political make up of the state FFS Seek help. He has done a terrible job with this team.

Btw, men died so that ppl could exercise their 1dt amendment right to protest. You are Unamerican! That conspiracy theory tells me you are a Qanon nuts case, keep that off here

People always “why make it political??” with no self awareness that the last holdouts supporting Cal were and are mostly lefties with no respect for anything but themselves.

Of course you have the right to kneel for the flag. No one is questioning that or suggesting those who did or support kneeling being throw jail. But just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.

As for Cal throwing games… that thought has crossed my mind. But why would the players do it? The players want to show out for the nba. And you don’t get to the nba by playing like garbage and losing a bunch of college games. I think it is clear that Cal gave up on coaching a long time ago and decided to (try to) recruit the best players and put talent everyone. Funny thing is, I’m still not convinced the talent on the roster is the issue. I’m not saying they’re nba all stars but you don’t need that to beat the teams we’re losing to. Oh, and he definitely had more talent than St Peters, Evansville, etc

Anyone who thought Calipari wasn't the right coach in 2009 to 2015 is a bonafide Calipari-hater. The results from those years are as good as there has been. There may have been questions about one and done system, but those results should have squashed that doubt.

This Calipari in 2020-2022 is not the same as that guy. This guy is ready for the retirement home.

It’s The Plot Against Kentucky Basketball. Said it before. This will be a show on HBO in the future. Evidence will come to light to prove it. Something will happen and people close to Cal will spill the beans.

I WANT to play guitar really good. But I’m not any good so when I play I suck. I do think Cal wants to win. But he’s just not very good at this stage in his career. I’m leaning towards the notion they losing payne and robic was his undoing. He relied on Great assistant coaches.

What is more un-American? To believe in a conspiracy theory , or to quash someone trying to talk about a conspiracy theory? Those soldiers die so you can ignore the first amendment there J. EDGAR. ( NOT CHOSEN AT RANDOM BASED ON THE Feds abuse of social media)

Whenever I see a team collapse like this it is usually because there is at least 1 very bad apple in the locker room spoiling team chemistry.

I doubted him after his first year. Sorry to prove you wrong. I have no feelings about the man at all and had none 13 years ago. I just doubted he was the guy because of the way he handled that team. I talked to the players, coaches, staff, and trainers quite a bit that year.

2012 was a wonderful surprise to me. Thought we were turning a corner that year as a program and making a run like great UK teams have.

We had some great seasons after that, but coaching cost us. There's not many people that will disagree with that. Changing your entire season philosophy and strategy in the final four of all places is not something ANY great coach would tell you to do at the beginning or middle of ANY season. Yet this coach did just that.

He hasn't done anything but 2nd guess and not follow through since then. The only thing that has happened to this team since the Bahamas is Cal. They look like they're scared, timid, unconfident, and overwhelmed and it's not because of the fans or the players, and not because of their opponents.

It happens every year like this now. Whenever we play good teams or programs and in must win situations we wilt. What's the only thing that hasn't changed since 2016?

I'll hang up and listen

I think the worse coach in America could do better than Cal with all the talent he has, it seems that he does want Ky to lose.

The coach. He's been spoiling team chemistry for years.

I know of and saw several title winning teams collapse after the coach divided the team, played politics, smothered the team, disregarded the value of players, or threw them under the bus entirely. A lot can happen from the coaching position to sink a team.

One bad apple can do a lot of damage, no doubt, especially if they are a starter with a ton of talent at a key position. No one player, however, can do the kind of damage that is replicated year after year and for years after they are gone.

How can anyone look at the last 6 years and blame a player as a "bad apple" when no one has been on the team that long?

The fact is this team was poorly constructed. There is only first round draft pick on the team. Cal needs 3 for his coaching style. He likes to give freedom to his players. The lack of elite talent on this team means u have to actually run plays, set double screens, etc. Not recognizing this has been Cal's biggest downfall IMO.

Only explanation. Cal is destroying the program on purpose.
You a flat earthier, tin foil hat guy too? Tell me why would Cal, with a big ego (like most coaches), destroy his own reputation? The losses don’t just get recorded on UK’s record, they also go on Cal’s career record.

I get that fans are angry, but some of you look mental with your theories.

that's crazy Cal isn't political and if he was Hes a 1 percenter

I often wonder if Cal off the court factors influence his decision making processes on the court. He has always been daft behind the mic, but his coaching decisions have grown increasingly bizarre. He either is utterly blind or has outside factors limiting the scope of his perception. Perhaps playing guys in certain ways and positions is necessary, he feels, in maintaining his recruiting networks.

It would explain the difference in how he communicates about certain players to the media. Cal couldn't help critiquing or backhand complimenting Willis and Allen, while at the same time not wanting to break some players hearts.
